Yes, he says Evie tried to kill her with a gunshot. That's how she got disfigured. Anyway he said something about Evie getting rid of her so they could be together (they were having an affair). But its unclear who really shot who. It could've been the guy.

[Justin]

But why would she be traveling with him after that?

[Addy]

Well, she doesn't know who shot her and I think she's trying to get back at him by putting pills in his drinks. I remember something about her saying that she stays because she loves him. I could be wrong. I'd have to go back and check.

Even if she is traveling with him to get revenge, why is he traveling with her? Weather or not he tried to kill her the first time he did dump her and then try to kill her with a knife. Now he is going on a road trip with her?

Have you read past 50% I will probably try for another 25% in this tonight and start the group read tomorrow.

That sounds good. I'll try for that as well. Not gonna start troop til Wednesday.

I'm at fifty five percent and need to stop, I just can't make it past more than a couple chapters in this one at a time or it starts to lose me. If you want go ahead and read further.I will eventually get there.

I'm glad you like my picks addy, the last couple I picked out I have not enjoyed. I'm going to just let you pick all of our non horror buddy reads from here out! I am going to read a bit more in this one in a little while.

Lol. Very true! I seem to like every thing u pick, even though I was skeptical of this one, but its turning out to be pretty bizarre, which is good. I never did get back to Red Hill though.

I like the story I just can't get into the writing. I picked it because it has so many great quotes on goodreads.

I tried reading zombies and shit, but didn't finish it and red hill was ok. I just hate zombies for some reason. I have yet to be impressed I guess.

I don't like zombies either but I like Carlton mellik III. When you joined the buddy read of that one with HA I was definitely not in the mood to even give a zombie book a shot especially when I found out it was a novel and I thought it was short stories

Yes, the writing is unusual and hard to get used to. I keep going back to make sure I read it right. His other books aren't like this are they?

Going back to zombies and shit, I really think you may like it....it was too gross for me to finish, but maybe someday.

Ok so I made another effort to read this tonight. Brandy Alexander is her brother who she hates but he don't know it's her because of her face but she shot her so she/he could be with her fiance so she most have know before but she met her in speech therapy so maybe not? Now she is traveling with the people who tried to kill her like nothing happened and remembering the time that she burned her brothers house down and even though she got away before the police got there it somehow going to end in a house fire because that's how the book started.

I think she's only with them because she's finding a way to get back at them...to exact some sort of revenge. Maybe it will b revealed later.

So I finished and it was interesting to say the least. Just weird and something I've never experienced before. Enjoyable, but very bizarre and touching in its own way.
