You can be happy your dad had a long and happy life and is now able to go on the next journey. But you can be as sad as you want that he isn't physically in yours anymore. He'll be there emotionally in your heart, mentally in your thoughts and spiritually in however you believe in the after life.

Just a thought about Blue not messin' with you is he may have connected with you. Dogs tend to on some level pick one person to connect with in a family. But they still have to realize that they are not in control.

On reading you can only read what you are able to read. I know it bums me out too when I can't get my reading in. I got a little bit ahead but the current series I'm reading is MASSIVE and I am falling behind again and the present library doesn't have the hard copies of book 2 and 3 so I'm reading digital. I tend to read slower with digital :-(

Well, I have been Prime Daying it yesterday and today. Got some stuff for setting up the house. I finally got myself a tablet, for my reading, writing and embroidery apps. Plus a few other things that I can use a bigger screen than the phone's.

Your trip to Hawaii I hope you are able to celebrate your dad's life and when you get home Blue behaves himself.

Well I haven't yet done any embroidery today (it's all been Priming so far) So I guess I should go an stitch some. Later

Marla | 26 comments Oh, Jazz, Thank you for the perfect words about my Dad! It was beautiful and comforting.

I appreciate the insights into Blue. I think the dogs appreciate that I am as consistent as I can be. While they were being boarded, Blue attacked Goldie. He didn't hurt her, but the doggy day care people were concerned. Blue submitted to EVERYONE except Goldie, so Blue didn't get banned. I guess he was stressed and took it out on poor Goldie. They said she didn't fight back at all, she is so sweet to him. Enabler/patient sibling. Blue was fine with me when I got home. I think he's behaving better, but he does growl at Goldie in different situations, but less lunging and almost no snapping at her.

Good job doing Prime Day! Way to save money. I always forget about it, but I don't really need anything.

Hawaii was good family time and productive. We cleaned out my Dad's apartment and went through his mail and important documents. And I just hung out with my siblings. We had a mass said for my Dad, but we couldn't get his ashes or do a funeral. My Dad was cremated last week, over 3 weeks since he passed away. Hawaii is very slow these days. We'll have a funeral when I get back there next.

I watched a lot of TV episodes because I didn't have the concentration to read. I still am not reading much, I usually have an audiobook & ebook going on my phone, an audiobook on CD in my car, and 2 deadtree books going at the same time. I am currently reading only 3 books.

Bet it's good to be home. It's a shame that you have to go back for the funeral. But I feel they are more for those left behind so the timing isn't critical. Seems like you have been traveling a lot lately and can be draining. So take care of yourself in between trips-like maybe read a book.

I got done with the massive series. It was so good I wish there was more. Or maybe not. Onto different reading adventures. Usually by this time of the year I'm looking at maybe adding books to my yearly reading challenge. Not there yet but the possibility is there.

Getting the tablet on Prime Day took a big chunk of my shopping availability. But I saved over $100. I'll get some of the other stuff I'd planned on later. I did get a SD card and a anti blue light screen protector to go with it. I feel that the blue light is hard on my eyes, so was important. I have anti blue light on my phone and it has helped a lot. I also have quality anti blue light glasses that I got from QVC a few months ago that I use as well. I had cheaper ones that were better than nothing but they weren't as clear. I been wearing the newer ones while watching TV even. Going to get the tablets cover/case next. It wasn't on sale. I did get a couple of things that the new house needed that were. All in all it was a good Prime Day. Have gotten everything already except the tablet and that coming Thursday.

Don't know how you read so many books at a time. I like to read one fiction book at a time. Have been known to have an audio book going at same time but for long trips. But that's about all. My Mom does several at a time as long as they are very different (genre, storyline, style, etc). Even if you're not reading much 3 books seems a lot to me :-) When the time is right you'll be blasting though books again.

Talking about reading I'll get back to my one and only current book.

Oh, I have been known to pick up a few kids picture books while I'm still reading a novel. I love kids picture book. The art work can be stunning. There's so many wonderful ones available now compared to when we were kids. I'm making up for what we missed out on when we were younger.
