That one looks cute Mimi! Maybe it would be a good gift for my nieces or nephews. :)

Caecilia Saori My guilty reading pleasure would be -
Graphic Novels.

huge fan of Robert Kirkman's "The Walking Dead" series, but also like Garth Ennis' works and Brian K. Vaughan's.

I still occasionally reread Finn Family Moomintroll but even when I haven't read it for a while, I think about it each spring when I notice the color of the first butterfly I see *grin*

Fully noted, Leslie. Still the clueless newbie...lol

Leslie | 16369 comments Thanks Mimi! It is just so hard to tell what book it is from the cover, esp. when using the app. And we want to know! :-)

And just so you and any other newbies out there know, some groups love the covers. So it wasn't a wrong thing to do in GoodReads land but it is something we in this group discourage for the reason mentioned above.

I do like graphic novels on occasion too. The artwork for Brian K. Vaughan's Y: The Last Man, Vol. 1: Unmanned series is lovely.

Zippergirl My guilty secret was tabloid trash but when reality shows became popular and I didn't recognize anyone on the cover I finally gave it up and saved my 10 bucks a week for something else something more worthy like ice cream. So now my guilty secret is that I eat ice cream every night in front of my Kindle screen.

My other guilty secret is that I don't feel guilty.

:-) I fully agree.
Have you read his latest graphic novel, Saga? I have the first 3 volumes at home, but have not really had the chance to dive into it yet ...

Not yet Caecilia, just that one series so far. Let me know what you think when you get around to it - maybe I'll pick it up. :)

I love it!! Though my guilty pleasure snack of choice would be potato chips rather than ice cream.

Sure will.
It's just that at the moment, I feel more like reading a book ... can change, though. "The Walking Dead" probably is the only Graphic Novel I would make room for, at any time.

*grin* Leslie .. I had potato chips as a reading snack only 2 days ago.
Usually, it's Oreos, but I had a craving for salty. oh, aren't we lucky - all these options :-)

Thanks to Netflix once in a while I see a couple of episodes of the Walking Dead. It's my guilty pleasure when sick. I've been thinking about tracking down the graphic novel.

message 118: by Caecilia (new)

Caecilia Saori Jennifer :-)
the TV show is ok. but IMO, it does not live up to the graphic novel.
also, they have added some characters for the TV show that do not appear at all, in the original comics.
