Alexa and I will be starting this series. It has been made into an exciting television series but I am so excited to read the book and find out more.

Ahh!! The tv programme, that's why I want to read it LOL! I haven't gotten around to watching it yet though.. is it good? :D

I like it. But it definitely has some big gaps and things that happen that don't seem possible or aren't explained. I am hoping I will get answers to my questions with the book.

Aw good! Ohh, I think it's like with a film, they can't possibly include everything but then again since it's a first series with 10 episodes you'd expect it to have more coverage?? weird! Maybe it's intended, and that they plan for whatever left out to be explained in season 2? I have no idea lol :P Either way I can't wait for us to start it.

I can give you an idea of which episodes you can watch based on where in the book you are as I have seen the first 7 or so episodes.

I am listening to the audiobook so unsure exactly where I am at the moment. I think I am in the middle of chapter 5.

Right off the bat it seems like lots of characters got cut from the book to the show.

I am 15 chapters in to the book.

I am liking the book but it is very different from the TV show. One of my favourite characters on the TV show hasn't made an appearance yet in the book. Wondering if this character even exists in the book.

Gosh I'm so sorry for being quiet, the wifi router stopped working the other day
because my cat chewed on the wires :(...and I'm hoping it's fixed within the following 3 days, atm I'm at some café trying to catch up on school work ugh!!

I'm like 8 chapters in so far, don't have any of my notes with me but I'm really liking it so far!! and I'd love that Mandiann!! Am I good to watch the fist episode now? 8 chapters in?:)

I would say that yes, you are good. What happens in the book is very different then what happens in the show. 15 chapters in and I still haven't come across some of the stuff that happens in the first episode. I am thinking it's because it isn't part of the book.

As they are so very different though it might be less confusing if you just waited. Your choice. First episode shouldn't spoil anything in the book though.

If you haven't started the tv show yet, wait. There is something important that hasn't been shown in the book yet but might be. I should finish it later today and then I can tell you for sure.

Clarke/Bellamy/Wells (view spoiler)[ I don't know what to say about this love triangle (if I can even call it that, who's feelings are reciprocated?? I'm confused)....yeah deffo not feeling it. (hide spoiler)]

Bellamy (view spoiler)[ Gosh...talk about being extremely rude to Clarke like, lashing out at her like that after their medicine-scavenge-in-the-woods thingy.
Yeah, she did imply his sister stealing the medicine but he's so intent on that Octavia would never do that?? how would he know!!!! (hide spoiler)]

Wells....ugh (view spoiler)[ LEAST likeable character so far, not as bad as Graham but so so annoying in the sense that he betrayed Clarke, by going behind her back with a secret she trusted him with which she CLEARLY stated depended on a life and death situation? so it had to be kept!
what was he thinking, I know what her parents were doing wasn't right but they were threatened...like their daughter's life was on the line,
of course they had to go through with it. And now Wells has the guts to win back her love?? because he risked his life etcetera to come down to earth.....ughh I don't like Wells LOL! (hide spoiler)]

Octavia/Graham (view spoiler)[ who stole the medicine...so far my suspects are Ovtavia and Graham.. Octavia because she was there when the medicine was last seen and Graham because he's not to be trusted at all costs.
he might be framing her even like Bellamy suggested (hide spoiler)]

but ahh I like the book so far! really fascinating things like (view spoiler)[the mutations, and them being in awe lol!! I'm like giggling whenever a sunset or something was described because it's so cute (hide spoiler)]

Glass (view spoiler)[ ahh I pretty much enjoyed all of her chapters, I can't believe everything that has happened though
she's been through so much, the pregnancy which resulted in her confinement and then setting up Carter for his death...wwoah I mean if anyone were to die I'm glad she picked Carter, what a scum! (hide spoiler)]

Camille / Glass / Luke (view spoiler)[ SOO glad the "love triangle" is not a love triangle, Camille was just some rebound then?
Anyway WHAT A WITCH Camille is! ..she knows her secret, I mean, Luke got his friend's date of death tattooed on him- he meant that much to him
(he would've meant less if Glass told him the truth about how he was treating Glass)
but yeah, Camille is jealous and jumped on the gun to jeopardize Luke and Glass' relationship! not surprised! I want to know how it all plays out SOO excited for the next book! (hide spoiler)]

Octavia (view spoiler)[whaaat where did she go?! Maybe she went for a walk because she couldn't sleep, then was kidnapped by the others that survived on earth? (hide spoiler)]

Clarke :( (view spoiler)[ Thalia :( oh man that broke my heart, that was so sad! She did everything she could to make sure her bestfriend survived, and as her condition was getting somewhat better- she dies :((

Bellamy / Clarke / Wells (view spoiler)[ umm well Clarke is officially done with Wells now ? (apparently, YAY, still don't like him) and it looks like Bellamy and Clarke could be a thing? I honestly don't know what I think of either pairings.. but I seriously don't like Wells (hide spoiler)]

Oxygen (view spoiler)[ I really liked the whole, we're running out of oxygen problem, flaws other than government (council in this case?) corruption- are great when it comes to world building and it's realistic. It's scary though, how they don't care about the other sectors other than Phoenix.... letting the others just run out of oxygen. nothing's happened yet,
can't wait (again) to find out more! (hide spoiler)]

The ending, woah!
(view spoiler)[ I kinda knew about this part and was anticipating it, a friend of mine watches the show and told me about the survivors killing The Hundred.. but yeah, I was just as intrigued reading about it! (but the survivor thing happened early on the show? and at the end of the book?? hm) I wonder what's going to happen. (hide spoiler)]

Overall good book!!! I really liked it, and I can't wait for the sequel AND to start the show :D it'll be fun watching it play out on my tv screen! Even though I'm sure a lot is going to be different.

I think overall, I liked the show better. I felt the book left too much unanswered and unexplored.

Yes, I really think it did. I was reading the book hoping it would giv3 me more information and answer the questions the tv show raised but didn't answer. Instead it gave me more questions and my favourite character was nowhere to be found.

Also I listened to the audiobook and I think this may have affected my rating. It was so confusing with the flashbacks and I was always trying to figure out when we were.
