weird - I'll go fix that. I wonder how that happened!

1. Does the book have to be one I rated on goodreads as 4 or 5 stars? If so, can I add books I've read to my shelf?2. All of the books I've rated are from the same genre. The result is that I keep getting either no recommendation, or the same few books recommended.
One of the books recommended is book 5 in a series I haven't read (Lover Unbound). Can I read book 1? They are not stand alone books I think.
The site requires that we register. I don't want to register with another site and start getting additional emails. Is there anyway around this?

I don't know why you had to register. I didn't register with anything when I used it. And I tried it several times.

You can use other books that you've read and would rate 4 or 5 stars. You also don't have to pick a book today - why not try reading a few books outside your one genre for other tasks in the challenge - if you like them, then you have more choices to put in.
You have to read the listed book, not others in the same series.

I just tried it again - there's no requirement for registering that I can see. There is a place where you can join to "save your favorites" but that isn't necessary to get recommendations.

Thanks Sandy. I've read other genres, just not rated them on goodreads, but since they don't have to be on my Read shelf, that will open up the possiblities.

i am going to read-->The Exorcist by William Peter Blatty
(name of book: The Shining by Stephen King)
Every book I typed in came up with nothing also. I really do not often read big names or popular books. I am crippled by this. lol
Karen -- it's a 15 point task, so you could use a book you enjoyed a long time ago (like back in middle school even....)

I looked at your shelf, you gave Echo Burned (Jack Reacher) 5 stars - and here were some options: http://www.whatshouldireadnext.com/is...
or Grave Secrets (Kathy Reichs) - http://www.whatshouldireadnext.com/is...

I saw 5 star books on your read shelf by Agatha Christie, John Grisham, Michael Connelly, M.C. beaton, etc. These are all popular authors, in addition to the 2 Dee mentioned.

If it suggests a series (The complete Chronicles of Narnia) and I am already on the last book in the series can I count that? Or would it have to be the first book in a series?

If the author suggests a series, you can read any book from that series.
