Thank you so much Margaret. I've messaged Barb about Unfinished Clue.

My usual second hand sources don't have either of these books. :/

Edit; My GH loving friend has Behold Here's Poison but I don't know if I'll see her before June.

You go, Margaret! Because I find that I no longer have the time available to be a possible 'leader' for 'Unfinished Clue'.

That's ok Barb. I hope you still join in the discussion.

Is there anyone else available to lead the discussion for The Unfinished Clue? :)

Carol She's So Novel꧁꧂ I'll leave this another 24 hours, but if no one is able to lead The Unfinished Clue I'll have to strike it from the nominations & put up a poll with the other 3. Sorry but I've never read this title & I don't have a copy. :(

Critterbee❇ (critterbee) | 2786 comments I have not read The Unfinished Clue yet, but if that does not matter, I am willing to lead the discussion.

*edit* ...if it is voted to be our June read.

Thanks Critterbee - you rock! I'll put the poll up now! :)

Carol She's So Novel꧁꧂ Penhallow won! :)

message 362: by Doris (new)

Doris (webgeekstress) | 53 comments I think I'm glad about this. Penhallow is so very out-of-the-ordinary for Heyer that it's hard to assess it in comparison with her other work. But I think that if you were to read it without knowing her other work, it would stand as quite a remarkable novel.

message 363: by Teresa (new)

Teresa | 2190 comments I've never read it so I'm looking forward to it.

Carol She's So Novel꧁꧂ Looks like the duplicate post bug is back, so I just deleted Doris & Teresa's second posts.

I'm hoping to have a much improved opinion of this novel.

It is finally spring in Vermont! A balmy 70F at the moment.

Teresa | 2190 comments Here in Ireland we've had some lovely balmy days. Then the last week has been freezing. Literally. Temps suppose to be going up again over the weekend. Fingers crossed.

Carol She's So Novel꧁꧂ & time to consider our July read.

I would like to do a poll of The Masqueraders, The Convenient Marriage & Beauvallet. If there is any interest I could include The Great Roxhythe as well.

2018 we start reading the regencies in order - which means if we don't read these titles this year, then we won't do a grop read of them till 2020.

Thoughts everyone? :)

message 379: by Hana (new)

Hana | 652 comments Everything you've mentioned sounds good to me. The Great Roxhynthe is a rare GH I've never read so I'd say it should be on the poll.

message 380: by Hana (new)

Hana | 652 comments Also I love grop reads. Especially romances. ;)

My choices would be between two of my all time favorites--'Masqueraders' and 'Beauvallet'. As I have little patience with a very young heroine that keeps getting into scrapes. 'Convenient Marriage' is not high on my list. I believe that 'Great Roxhythe' should remain buried, as GH wished.

Karlyne Landrum | 3895 comments Grop? Grope? Stop! You're killing me!

message 385: by Susan in NC (last edited May 17, 2017 07:58PM) (new)

Susan in NC (susanncreader) | 4147 comments Gropes all round! I know the heroine was always getting into trouble as Barb says, but I remembered liking Convenient Marriage; having said that, I can always re-read on my own to see if it holds up for me after so many years, I've never read Masqueraders or Beauvallet, so I'd be pleased with either of those for July!

message 386: by Karlyne (new)

Karlyne Landrum | 3895 comments I'll vote for either The Masqueraders or Convenient Marriage.

message 387: by Abigail (new)

Abigail Bok (regency_reader) Masqueraders for me!

message 388: by Amy (new)

Amy (aggieamy) | 422 comments I want to read all of them so I will abstain from voting and just be excited about what everyone else picks.

Carol She's So Novel꧁꧂ OK I'll put a poll up tonight. :)

I will say I found The Great Roxhythe was (unintentionally) very funny!

I'll send a block message out shortly.

Hilary (A Wytch's Book Review) (knyttwytch) Voting starts on: Nov 17, 2018 12:00AM PST

errr bit late to have the vote if we are reading it this July :D

I'm not with it at all! Hopefully works now!

Hilary (A Wytch's Book Review) (knyttwytch) It does and I have voted (and I was tossing up between a re-read and one I haven't read - aargh!)

message 394: by Hana (new)

Hana | 652 comments Perfect! I voted Beauvallet since I'm quite in the mood for a swashbuckler. But I'm putting The Great Roxhythe on my TBR list--my amazing library system has copies.

message 395: by Jacquie (new)

Jacquie Scuitto | 261 comments Masqueraders is one of my favorites. Lots of humor and a neat plot twist. Sir Anthony is another large gentleman with more brains than first demonstrated!

I just read that, and didn't like it any better than I did the first time.

What's the book where the heroine has a brother(?) who is into engineering?

Hilary (A Wytch's Book Review) (knyttwytch) Frederica :)

message 398: by Howard (new)

Howard Brazee | 1 comments Hilary wrote: "Frederica :)"

I'd like to read that again.

message 399: by Abigail (new)

Abigail Bok (regency_reader) You’re right, Jacquie, about Anthony! I guess I must have a type, because The Masqueraders was my favorite Heyer when I was younger, before I abandoned Anthony for Hugo in The Unknown Ajax.
