Genre: Funny/Wry/Surreal Story Stories or Pieces (of any genre)
Hello everyone,
My name is Cearúil (a fellow writer) and I am looking for a group of authors to put together a collection that will be available for free in order to create buzz and interest in each author involved.
The idea is simple, each of us provides a story or set of stories/pieces that come to a combined total of 10,000-15,000 words and we package them together and make them available to the reading public. You can use the collection to promote yourself and your other work (if any). This gives readers a risk-free way to sample your work which can lead to fans and sales further down the line. Ideally we will have 5 or 6 authors so the word count should be around 90,000 words. There may be opportunities for larger submissions in another collection at another date in the future.
Criteria for acceptance: Your submissions must have been edited and proofread by a professional of some kind (if you edited it yourself or got a friend to do it for free, chances are it isn't up to scratch. Same would apply to any of us.) The submission deadline is the 25th of September. Your submission must be accompanied with a blurb for the story or stories. You agree to the book being available on amazon, nook, apple and through distributor smashwords. The submission is your own and you have full rights to distribute in all regions and countries. You should have an author page on amazon or some way for people to find out more about you. Include with your submission a promo page that will go before your story or pieces detailing your email list (if you have one), your website (if applicable) and links to your other works (if any) and social media accounts (if you are into that kind of thing).
Last few things: You retain full rights to your story and I have no interest in stealing it or claiming it as my own, I have no dastardly ulterior motive. The book cover can be done by someone we know who has experience in book design or I have seen some good clean, crisp covers done through canva.com with images either free or $1. Obviously if we get someone to make the cover then we split the costs associated. This is a great opportunity to get your work out there and give people extra by collaborating with other talented people. Once enough people have entered submissions we will look at each other's stuff and you can then decide if you are still interested in being involved. I hope we can release it within 1 or 2 months.
