I'll finish my book and pick this weeks read after taking the dogs for a walk. I've got 30 pages left. I piled it last night before I could finish....

Shelf #11 ~ 27/7/14: 'Two's Company' (At least 2 people on the cover):
Book choice: TBA..I am hoping to get approval for

Magic Breaks by Ilona Andrews (302 pages per goodreads)
OR

Double Blind by Heidi Cullinan (454 pages per goodreads

Jenne wrote: "What about the new Kate? It has her and Curran in his lion form."
Steph wrote: Sorry, Jenne. I'd wanted to read that one too, but this shelf must be two people, no animal states.
I have no idea what I'll be reading. I'll decide tomorrow.

Review:
As dark and gritty as Chess' world is, god I love it! The author pulls no punches with Chess' character, she is flawed, very much so. A lying, drug-addicted junkie who somehow manages to hide it from the Church, her employer and function as a Debunker, disproving hauntings.
This one sees her relationship with Terrible grow as others disintegrate....and for once Chess' drug addiction might actually help...

My choice this week for two's company:

I had it approved in discussion thread to make sure two heads with minimal bodies showing was ok :) So glad it's approved as it is on my july to read shelf.

This one didn't have as much of the humor element that the first 2 in the series had. There was a lot less silly animal antics. But it was still a quick, entertaining read. The hero has PTSD but it's an emotional read. This is series is great for when you just want a quick, easy read that won't make you cry or feel sad afterwards.

She has had a few serious family problems that will prevent her reading and participating on GR for the next little while.
As it is more than likely that the game will finish next week, we won't be appointing a replacement team member.
I'm sure you join with the Mods in wishing Nichole all the best for her future and a speedy return to GR.
Hope everything works out for you, Nichole.

Review: Nikolai is sent to Montreal to check on a Gen One as many are being eliminated. Here he is taken by Renata and the Breed males she works for after she uses her mind power on him. She is able to incapacitate a breed male as long as he is not Gen One. We also meet Mira and Hunter in this novel a sweet breed mate child with the power of precog but every time she uses her power she loses some more of her sight. Hunter is a Gen One (made) male whom Mira saves by her vision when he comes to Assasinate the Gen One who has been holding her and Renata in his power.
I loved Renata and Nikolai's story. I love how this story keeps building with each new book and yet we still stay 'up to date' with the others back at the compound. Looking forward to Andreas' book which is next.

It looks like we we've completed it - just need the stamp :)

Thanks melissa. That's good.
I am trying to find my books now so I can be ready :D

That's a winning shelf call for team 4.
I still plan on reading my books. I'll decide this afternoon what I'll read this week.

Review:
Whilst slow to start this finished with a bang. The alternating POV's made me struggle a little at first as well. The last 1/3 of this book really picked up on the action. I felt the first half was almost a rehash of the angst, and emotions of the previous books. There are some interesting personal character developments, plot twists and inter-character dynamics that have left a good opening for the next book

I love this series. Normally I don't like weepy type romances but these work for me. I liked how in this one it was the heroine who was the military veteran with the PTSD issues. First one I've come across that way. Normally it's the hero. I read a couple of reviews that thought she got over her trauma a little too easy. But I didn't feel like that. She had been home for like a year and even though she wasn't getting treatment, it's not like it had just happened to her. To me it was more like Corey letting herself love Ted and start a new life was part of the healing process for her.

You are going through that series. This was where it got repetitive and old...but

Ditto

At this point - I'm still enjoying it. I have the next one on audio as well.

Same here. Sad we didn't win but glad we're done before my vacation :)
