I think I have two chapters left. They've headed North and made contact with witches who can apparently send their demons over much farther distances than a typical person.

We also meet an armored bear, whose lost his armor and become a drunk..

Lyra takes the bear to some village and finds a young boy whose had his demon severed.

Then Lyra gets kidnapped and delivered right to the missing kids. Now she's reunited with her friends and plotting their escape. They discovered that the severed demons are being kept in some kind of jars. They set them free.

Just as things are looking good, Lyra's mother shows up.

Pretty good so far, but not quite as interesting as at the start. Probably a 3.5 for me right now.
