Understandable, Barb! Do enjoy and come back safe from your trip. :)

Barb (barblibrarian1) Thank you both for your understanding. I will do better for November!

For you I am choosing The Muse A Pride and Prejudice Variation by Jessica Evans I have been eyeing it for awhile and wonder how it is. :)"

Finished a couple of days ago, but haven't had time to write up the review. It was okay. Like it said in my review it reminded me of the movie Center Stage, which I love. I think dancing makes a better movie than book. I enjoy watching dancing not really reading about it.

Teresa | 277 comments Ahnya thank you so much for picking Northanger Abbey for me. I'd forgotten just how much I really love it. I watched the dvd as well the weekend. Yes it was lovely picturing the places in Bath that were mentioned in the novel, having been there so recently.
Many thanks again.

Glad you enjoyed it. I bet the imagery you got while reading was amazing, having just been there.

Abigail Bok (regency_reader) I’m still reading away in George Knightley, Esquire: Lend Me Leave (got a late start). I like it a lot, especially the portrayal of all aspects of Mr. Knightley’s life, as a landowner and magistrate. A little too much rumination on his feelings for my taste, especially because they seem to remain much the same throughout. I’m very impressed with how seamlessly it’s integrated with scenes and conversations from Emma!

Abigail Bok (regency_reader) Thanks, Suzan, for getting me to read the second volume of Barbara Cornthwaite’s retelling of Emma from Knightley’s point of view! I’m glad I finished it, though I liked the second volume a bit less than the first. Here’s my review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Oh Teresa!

You must have the gift of the sight. ;) Your pick was definitely the right book for the right moment. I loved The Last Adventure of the Scarlet Pimpernel. Never thought I'd like Frederick Tilney, but Jack Caldwell's version made me a see a reformed Frederick was a swoon-worthy hero. And ahhhhh, loved seeing Marguerite and her dashing Pimpernel.

Thanks again!

Teresa | 277 comments Glad you enjoyed it Sophia. I'll have to give that one a go myself.

Debbie (dmbrown) | 849 comments Deborah, I finished reading your pick for me around mid-month. Great Misfortunes turned out to be just an okay read, but it IS unpublished and was certainly worth reading compared to many pieces of unpublished fanfiction that I've slogged through! Thanks for choosing it!

I am glad it was a 'tolerable' , unlike Darcy's comment about Elizabeth at the Meryton Assembly. I know unpublished stories vary in quality so am glad it was tolerable enough. Glad you didn't have to go slogging. :)

Deborah | 55 comments I know I am posting a day late, but I began Rainbow Promises on Sunday evening and finished it yesterday. It is a very beautiful continuation of Rainy Days. Not very angst filling, but quite satisfying and enjoyable. I definitely recommend it.

I choose for you Jane Austen's Town & Country Style. Enjoy!"

I loved it!

Gretchen | 91 comments I finally finished Jane Austen's Town and Country style . It took longer than I intended I would pick it up to read and I would have to put it down to read for my other groups etc. Then I would start reading it again. I really liked it if you enjoy interior design and you like magazines like Architectural Design , Country Living and Interiors you will enjoy this book. It goes over everything the buildings, furniture, furnishings everything. It is fun!

This would make a nice resource if you're writing books for that time period. Glad you could finish, Gretchen!
