Hello again ^_^

The challenge is set for the next weekend (16-17-18th Sept). But better be prepared ! Let us brainstorm a little bit about this one, shall we ;D

A member suggested a brilliant idea already : that each one picks a person from the group and chooses a book to read for him/her. How do you feel about it ?

I think it's better to leave the genre and the number of langages open so that people would feel more at ease, but we need to make a decision together about :
- The number of pages the book should not exceed.
- How are we gonna select our next victim :D (also depends on how many people are gonna join the challenge)

Voilà ! Can't wait to hear your thoughts :)

Yo, so we are four people so far :D, that's cool. Should be easy to split and for whom gonna go with whom :D we can entrust someone to do the draw, should be straightforward too (I can do it!). For the pages I would go with 200. What about you guys?

I'm thinking.
1-2-3-4-1
1 recommande à 2 qui recommande à 3-etc. Et la boucle est bouclée! This way each one will interact with at least two people.
What do you think ?

Goodness already six participants ! So Great :D

Let's get this party started ;)

When I saw the 1-2-3 I was so convinced that I was in the wrong forum and that the message was talking about some kinda of football attack strategy (3-5-2)

Sorry XD I wanted to illustrate my idea so it would be clear for you guys. I guess you didn't like it after all lol

Nah :D I did, was just joking around. To make it even better we can associate the numbers to the members by the order they joined the challenge.

PS: I added so much emojis in the previous message to hint the jokes, but they were removed from the posted message :( which made me look so rude :D apologies. anyway yeah ... lesson learned never use emojis in Goodreads.

message 14: by Sophia (new)

Sophia | 177 comments Mod
Goodreads has got no sense of humour :D *emoji*emoji*emoji* :p

Your idea works better. So that makes:
- Number 1 Sophia (me)
- Number 2 Moutaquillah
- Number 3 El Mehdi
- Number 4 Haifa
- Number 5 Abdel
- Number 6 Fatima Azzahra.

And we follow this order : 1-2-3-4-5-6-1
The "-" between the numbers means "recommends a book to".

Remember, the book should not exceed 200 pages (more or less a few pages), and if someone has trouble finding the books let's help each other out, okay? ;)

Particularly excited about this challenge :D

Moutaquillah can you believe that Goodreads says our tastes are 0% similar for the books we both rated XD
Into the Wild Paperback, 207 pages
Something tells me you're gonna love it :)

Are you familiar with the movie?

message 17: by Abdelkarim (new)

Abdelkarim | 27 comments Bonjour Fatima azahra

Je vous recommande: La Fille du train

:)

Well Sophia, robots suck you know that :D and Goodreads is a cold, humourless sun of beach robot :p. You done well by looking into the data. (Some dramatic music please!). (but seriously thanks for taking the time to look through my to-read list (y)).

Yeah Into The Wild is one of my favorite movies of all time and I like it even more because of its music, composed by Eddie Vedder.

Believe it or not I just re-watched the movie last month and I was planing to read the book after that but I got carried away. So yeah thank you :D.

@El mehdi, I will recommend you one of the books that changed who I am and I hope you will enjoy it – I hope you didn't read it yet (I wish I could experience it for the first time <3).
The book is called The Catcher in the Rye.

it was translated to every possible language you can imagine :D. So you won't have an issue concerning the languages.

let me know how it went!

Moutaquillah, that's great!
By the way, I don't wanna take the credit for going through the 400 titles (I did that after I read your comment and felt guilty), I actually took a look at your "read list". But see, it turned out well! Human intuition (I don't wanna seem sexist).

I love the movie too. It is still one of my favourites. Everything about it is just breathtaking and also heartbreaking at the same time.

Wishing you a happy reading!
Oh, and now I have Mozart playing in the back of my head XD so... Thanks lol.

Coucou Fatima Azzahra, Merci pour ta suggestion. Ce sera mon premier livre Coréen ^^
Même si j'ai un tout petit peu ça dit "You're never think of you mother the same way again after you read this book".

Aha, good one :D never doubt a woman's Intuition :P. Thanks and enjoy your read too. It will be hard for me to find the French version I think there's one French book-store in town so wish me good luck.

By the way here's a nice website to help you find translations for a book and their names: http://www.worldcat.org/

Oh oui, c'est pratique. Merci !

Merci Fatima Azzahra.

Mercurielle_ | 12 comments Still here :D I'm sorry I missed out on the discussion (stupid Goodreads setting-issue)
Thank you El Mehdi for your recommendation (Go ask Alice) I already fetched it in both french and english! And as to Abdel, I recommended "De profundis - Oscar Wilde" (à défaut: La chute - Alber Camus)
I'm so glad to be a part of this! Happy reading everyone :)
