The smoking pipe. The impressive mustache. The deerstalker. The miniscule clue. The nosy elderly spinster. The magnifying glass. A dead body slummed in the locked room. The unjust killing that must be solved. A missing trinket taken from beneath everyone’s noses.

Everyone loves a good mystery. There is something about the thrill of the chase, moving ever closer to the resolution, that draws you in and keeps you turning the pages. This month’s challenge is the read a book of mystery or intrigue.

Not sure how to solve this case? It's elementary, dear Watson- take a look at these helpful links:

Top 100 Crime Novels

Best Mystery Novels to Get Lost In
50 Essential Mystery Novels Everyone Should Read
Goodreads' Intrigue Book Lists

The cases are calling; time to get cracking!

In honor of this genre challenge I will play Clue with my daughter - I will probably not read a mystery though. I haven't found any that have captured my interest before - but please feel free to give me suggestions.

Suggestions? I've got quite a few. :)
Susan Elia Macneal, Laurie R. King, Charles Todd, Anne Perry, J.D. Robb, Carola Dunn, Kerry Greenwood (her series is available on DVD as well- filmed in Australia), Robert Galbraith (aka J.K. Rowling)... That's all I can think of off the top of my head. Enjoy.
