Nik Krasno | 19865 comments Many indie authors don't have the luxury of Grisham or King of concentrating solely on writing and teams of formatting, marketing, PR, wiping (no, wiping maybe not) dudes doing all the rest.
Unless someone is retired, stuck on uninhabited island or otherwise isolated from life and world, indies need to combine a whole bunch of skills and engage in work, family, life, writing, reading, marketing, drinking, watching football, vacationing (err... it's probably under life).
I think Caeser was known for his multitaskingness and some say women are like this -:)
What works for you though: engaging in plenty of things in the course of the day/week or concentrate efforts on something one in a time?

Tara Woods Turner | 2063 comments I'm horrible at multitasking when it comes to writing. If I'm writing that's all I can do for literally days on end and I only pop up to eat, shower and maybe say hello to my husband and my dog. The same is true for promoting, marketing exec . So when I'm not working or riding it's pretty much the same thing I'm super focused on that task such as family, friends, cooking, vacation etc.

Michael Fattorosi | 477 comments I get bored when not multitasking. Each day is spent with small amounts of time focused on several different issues. Its one than onto another.

kavi ~he-him~ (spideykavi) | 145 comments I like multi-tasking, it's kind of fun. and I usually like to listen to music while doing other things at the same time, like writing, and reading a book. it's really fun

Annie Arcane (anniearcane) I'm a total multitasker. I NEED to have just a little too much on my plate at all times or else I get super bored. People are always telling me to relax cuz I deserve it. Take a break or whatever. But honestly? The thought of doing nothing even for a day makes me antsy. Seriously gives me anxiety just thinking about it...

*shudders*

I dig that last-minute pressure-y feeling. Like, you gotta go balls-to-the-walls or it all falls apart, ya know? Yeah. That's the sweet spot right there...

*content sigh*

Happy hugs,
Ann

Graeme Rodaughan I focus on a single task at a time, but I flow across a wide variety of topics in a day.

When I'm focusing, I'm aiming to get something done. I always have multiple threads of activity that I have to deal with on a daily basis.

I avoid thrashing by prioritisation and ensuring that I actually get something useful done on a task before moving to the next one.

If I can, I close a task out.

Justin (justinbienvenue) I'm better suited in doing single things although I can at times multi-task such as writing an e-mail or be on Twitter. If I try to do to two big tasks at a time or one of the things is browsing Facebook then I get side tracked and it's no longer multitasking lol.
