Marco Baldari | 1 comments Among "quotes" the following one : http://www.goodreads.com/quotes/32151... is WRONGLY attributed to Clarence Francis. In "his" "famous" (viral mistake) quote Dr. Francis is just TRANSLATING a famous sentece of the Greek Philosopher Plato, dating more than 2500 years (from Plato's Dialogues) which reads:
"You can buy a man's work, his experience, his advice; but you will never be able to buy his enthusiasm, his initiative and the devotion of his heart, his mind, his soul. Such things you must deserve by your loyalty to him" (Plato, "Dialogues").
I think that Clarence Francis himself, a cultivated man, in his time mentioned Plato. But the ignorants that followed did not: many English internet sources are perpetuating this blunder, making it viral.
