We have just finished the book! How was it compared to other Richelle Mead's books? There have been many mixed reviews of the book. Which side are you on? Rating?

It's very different from Vampire Academy (which is the one book/series I can compare it to) but in a good way. I like Vampire Academy, but I really liked this one as well. I'm definitely on the yay part. I thought the setting, the plot, some of the characters were really interesting. The reason for me giving this a 4-star rating is because of the shortness. It's not long which leads to some missing explanations, world building and character development. But then again...I did pick this one up right now because I wanted to read a short standalone
It's different from bloodlines and vampire academy, though I did expect that. For some reason, at least early in the book, I disliked the writing, but either it got better or I adjusted to it.
It was a cool and entertaining book, but nothing more. It captured my interest but not my heart(damn that's deep)
