Hei Sogeki (sogekihei) | 1 comments I might have read this book between '01 and '04. This book may have been geared towards children rather than MG or YA as I'd have been 10-13 yo. The genre should be fantasy with a basis in science.

I remember at one point the main character was tiny for some reason (too small to interact with the world we see,) but I don't remember the plot or even the gender of the MC. I believe time ran at different rates while he/she was in this state. A few weeks in that state might have been mere hours at our level, or vice versa.

I don't believe there was time travel, but there were other unusual environments that defy the physical world we know and interact with. I don't remember why, but the story seemed to be some sort of abstract journey through reality-bending dimensions.

There may have been an adult guide/mentor.
