well i dont know if this what ur looking for but bewitching mysteries is quite good there is a little supernatural in there but it does stay the bounderies of reality n its more about this girl trying to solve murders n try to get off with the hot police man too
Read your local flavor, Conrad Williams, or try out the August Book Read for HA, both are good and the only thing I would recommend is to not start with Head Injuries or Rain on the Conrad Williams front. No supernatural, no vampires, just some good old dark fiction.
Yes, this is a totally juvenile series but you will seriously laugh your butt off. It's the Georgia Nicholson series written by Loiuse Rennison. Still YA. If your looking for something more mature then I would have to recommend The History of Love by Nicole Krauss or Pete Hamill's "Forever." SO GOOD.
