Cameron (murray_h) | 7 comments I don't want to add a new book, this is what I'm after

I'm trying to find the title of a book I read years ago. I can't remember the plot of the book, but I do remember there was a character in it called Mim.

Is there any way I can find characters from books by searching for them.

Many thanks,

Anthony

Abcdarian | 26579 comments I don't believe so. This is not a librarian issue. There are groups (link under "Community" at top of page) where people post looking for books where they can't remember the title. I don't know the specific names of the groups, sorry.

p.s. Google suggests Mosquitoland

Cameron (murray_h) | 7 comments I Tried the community by starting a new discussion. After I had composed my message an error message near Book this topic is about Start typing the name of a book... box. How can I start typing the name of the book when I don't know what the title is. Even when I typed in a fictitious title I still had the error message.

With the greatest of respect.

To be honest I find this very frustrating when you're asking for help from the Librarians who know more about the workings of Goodreads than I do to be told it's not a Librarian issue. I've just had a look at the Groups and these are totally useless as not one of them can provide me with the answer I require.

From your feedback page.

For book edits or other issues regarding a specific book or books, try the Goodreads Librarians Group instead.

Have a nice day or night.

Amanda [darjeeling_and_jade] (exploredreamdiscover) | 9 comments Is it possible that you're looking for The Once and Future King? I've never read it, but I was reminded of Disney's The Sword in the Stone and the movie is loosely connected to the book.

I know how frustrating looking for a book whose details are lost in your mind is. My advice is to try to remember any more details about your book and do a specific google search for it. I was able to find mine that way. It's hard to go off of a character alone; hopefully you can remember the genre or an element of the plot to help your search.

Good luck!

Thank you for your message. No that's miles away from the title I'm after. It's been over twenty years since I read it, so much of what's in the book has been lost from memory, except to say one of the character's name was Mim. I have tried a GS.

Thank you for your message. How do I join the group? I can find no way to do this. Looking from the links on the right, it looks as though you cannot join it unless you are invited to join.

No you dont need to be invited. Click on the link I gave you above which will take you to the group & directly underneath the groups profile picture (guy hitting head against wall) there is a "Join Group" button. Click on this :)
