Hi Pauline, welcome! I write historical romances, most of the ones I write as Melinda Hammond are "sweet", like Dance for a Diamond which I e-published recently, and I also write for Harlequin Historicals as Sarah Mallory - these books are sexier but certainly not erotic! My own view is that the story is the most important thing and some just don't work with too much sex. It it's in context, fine, but it's not always appropriate. The main thing is to make is clear (somewhere) what type of book it is :-). Happy reading.
I agree...each story is different. Some of the stories I write are very sweet romances and gratuitous sex just would not fit the storyline. Other stories require a bit more and fit the content and characters. Editors these days keep telling authors to make it hotter...thanks to certain books such as Fifty Shades...will be glad when romance is "in" again!Debra Holt

I'm with you there, Debra. Hotter isn't always better. I love a good romance, well written and with a great storyline.
hi pauline, i agree that the lines are far too blurry. i hate to have a sex scene interrupt a good read ....
Hi, I just joined this group today and though I initiated my own "Hello everyone, really happy to be here! :-)" discussion thread, but felt like greeting everyone individually too! Well, looking forward to great recommendations and wonderful friendships :-)
Thanks and Happy Reading! :-)

That is one of the reason I was glad I found this group. For me books that use sex for sales are a complete turn off
