Joyce,I'm taking horseback riding lessons and I'll see you at the club on the last day. I gave the Maître d' a bigger bribe (I mean tip) than you and so he's very happy to accommodate us so that I will have the last post and get the crown of the Kingdom and you.
and also "the skirmishes don't matter because I will win the war and a giraffe for Joyce. These I flick into history: "winning temporarily and many "nots" and "no me's". It is the knowing me who will grab the wind and ride to victory. We gather our troops and weapons and hide in the hills surrounding the field and wait for the last moment to see the blues of their eyes.
I attack and withdraw to waste their ammunition, but you have to be quick to avoid any injuries. Try to ignore the taunts... just keep your horse well groomed and your sword sharp...oh and sometimes bagpipes will scare them away... if done right it seems to hurt their ears. I'll look for a drum boy too. Cacophony and confusion are best along with smoke...
We have champagne and we're lining up a bugle boy and a drummer boy and soon we'll have bagpipes and Frisbees. The Charge of the Heavy Brigade will be soon...
you're going to run out of coffee. We've cornered the coffee market... the prices will rise, and there are rumors about a coffee bean blight
when necessary Doug uses 3 teaspoons of instant coffee in a glass at a time and usually he drinks 10 of those glasses or more. But we have goats eating the coffee beans to reduce the supply. There's still time for me to make a reservation for you at the Trotters club. We'll get you a nice table, and humble pie.
I only drink Starbucks coffee. It's the best, in my opinion. The Trotter's Club and humble pie? Is there a message in there somewhere? Hehe.
Cosmos dear,I told Bree about it:
Maître d'hotel
And "the proof is in the pudding." But the message is in the fortune cookies.
Cosmos,I said to Bree:
Bree,
I know the Maître d'hotel at the Trotters Club. He's given me a reservation guaranteed for Sept 30/Oct 1 midnight where we can watch the last man on horseback doing the last post*. If you share the table with me we can watch him together and you can anoint him with the official crown. The Maître d' has assured me that there will be enough security to keep everyone else out. This assures that the 3 of us win hands down or hands high, whichever it is.
We can have a pleasant dinner, and enjoy at our leisure while the rest of the rabble bang on the windows.
*"Posting (also known as the rising trot) is a riding technique used primarily in English-style horse riding, whereby the rider rises from the saddle in time with the horse's gait"
