Sunday morning, and a group of friends are going across by Rib boat to the Island of Sark (mile by 1/2 mile roughly), going to the only nice hotel The Stocks Hotel for lunch, swim at the hotel, horse and carriage rides in the afternoon, (no cars on the island), back 8.00 this evening.

Will take about 20 minutes by boat.

It's a lovely little island, so quite, have a look on the internet

The Channel Islands(re Jersey, the biggest, Guernsey, Alderney, Sark and Herm and Little Herm.

and there I was reading the Island of SHark instead of Sark, wondering if there were sharks in the UK too :)

Here in Melbourne, Australia we are turning up our heaters as we're having an artic blast with snow falling in places we've never had snow before. It's 8.30pm and tomorrow is a school day :) so I'm off to bed, snuggling up with a good book and a hot cup of cocoa

My niece bought this soap for me..........one side says LOVE and the flip side of the bar says IS ALL YOU NEED. It's a bright pinky-red bar............that has patchouli nodes. Oh Lord!!!!! I love it. Hubby loves it.
Heading to the shower, with a smile!!!!!!!
Then, my honey is taking me away for the day........just errand running.........and lunch out.

Hope you are not disappointed Lavada - the TV series really has very little in common with the book other than the names of the characters.....The first season was okay, but the second season hasn't measured up. Stick with the book. 8:D

Been a very hot day in Jersey and my wife and I did our jewellery stall, for eleven hours.

Came straight home and ordered a Chinese Beef Curry, just so tired, as always on Saturdays.

Tomorrow travelling by plane to Guernsey(15 minutes)

to play for Jersey against Guernsey. Up to nine sets of tennis in one day!

Enjoyed the curry ! Just rest and watch The X Factor.

Last night was very weird here in Jersey, the whole evening we had flashes of lightning for over two hours, but no thunder and heard nothing, and no rain till hours later.

Must of just missed Jersey !

We had the thunder in NZ, but no lightning!
Made up for it this morning though. Very windy also. Heavy deluges of rain, then sun. Yes - it's spring!

Ter'e Crow Lindsay (terecrow) | 798 comments Lavada.......Bless your heart!!!! Glad you did not hurt yourself worse than you did. Banging your head can be tricky. Take it easy.

I am just hanging out today. Yesterday I had an epidural (for my back pain) and it turned into inserting the needle three times. If this eliminates my pain for a year, i don't care. Am creeping around, taking it easy today. We had someone that wanted to look at the house, this a.m. And I had to decline. I just wasn't up to cleaning, steaming floors and taking the dogs out with me. Hope I did not screw up a prospective buy!!!!

message 441: by Lavada (new)

Lavada (kraftyvada) | 436 comments Ter'e take it easy. I understand back pain can be so frustrating. Several people at work suffer different things. pretty much limits you! Dont worry about the house. if they are truly interested will make another appt! If not, they werent the right type of people for your house

Tuesday night, family is asleep. Just me and a glass one wine writing a short part of the story on a separate sheet of paper. Fitting it in somewhere in the text tomorrow. Sometimes you write one of those sentences you look back upon and think, "Damn, that actually turned out better than I thought."

Oh, I feel for you. I - too - am the caregiver for a 15 year old. Mine is an Aussie Shepherd/Catahoula mix. Luckily, she seems to only have a problem with arthritis. But I worry every day it'll be my last with her. Every day is a blessing. This is the longest I've ever had a dog last so I look at every day as a gift.

message 448: by Ter'e (new)

Ter'e Crow Lindsay (terecrow) | 798 comments Our last doggie lived to be 19 to the day. She was a dollbaby. A mutt from the humane society. We loved her dearly. Once we put Rusty down, we went 19 years before getting another dog. Thats when we adopted Charley and then a year later, we adopted Blu. Of course, we had 4 cats spaced out in the meantime. But, there is nothing like having a dog. No home should ever be without one (or a cat). I think having our pets, keep us younger. Our dogs sure keep us entertained. Kirsten, my heart goes out to you too.

message 449: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kmcripn) 19 years without a dog???? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I could NEVER do that. After Misty's sister died of kidney disease, we thought of getting her a companion, but then we realized we couldn't do that to her.

Rusty was a small dog, right? The small ones live longer. Great Danes apparently only live 6 years on average. My dog is middle-sized (40 lbs about). I could never get a small dog. And we can't have cats as we're allergic here. (Plus I just prefer dogs.) However, all the neighborhood cats are always coming over - once they learned that Misty won't chase them.

message 450: by Ter'e (new)

Ter'e Crow Lindsay (terecrow) | 798 comments Yeh, Rusty was a schnauzer mix. She was a darling dog.......but not the smartest one on the block. I have to say Sir Charles (Charley, the Havi) is the smartest little guy I have ever seen. Both our dogs are small.......about 11-12 lbs.
We loved our cats, but there is a world of diff when you have a dog.
