Great quote. I love Keats. Ode to a nightingale is my fav and my fav word is that poem is 'darkling', a play on words encapsulating darling and darkness.

Lorrea - WhatChaReadin'? (whatchatreadin) 11:38am. At work, just finished writing a review, posted to Goodreads, about to put it on my blog and start reading the other book i'm in the middle of that is not fun!

I looked at that word 'darkling' earlier and wondered what it meant!

I think its meant to refer more to the dark but it sounds so close to darling, it evokes that word. Elsewhere Keats makes reference to the Darkling Thrush and there was a Darkling beetle also I believe. Whatever it means the language is so lyrical and beautiful to read.

Shelley and Byron?

message 1406: by Tracy (new)

Tracy Quarrell | 369 comments Yes they would have been up for something 'darkling'.

Hi Cameron...nice to meet someone in the same line of business. We own a bar/restaurant in NZ - Cheers!

Thanks for sharing that quote Tracy. Just what I am in the mood for.....not getting far with any work today. *:(

Scott Ivlow (scottinwinterhaven) | 84 comments Lisa sorry I missed your question last week. The weather in the past week in Central Florida during the daytime has been really warm and dry. Last weekend with the dryer air the night time tempertures were really cool around low 60's but when the low pressure system went further up the Atlantic earlier this week the nighttime and daily dew points have gone way up but temperatures are have been steady with the higher humidity. We had some windy conditions today which felt really comfortable. We have had very little rain fall so far this month. We did have a Thunder storm last week in the evening from that low pressure system when it was close to the Florida Coast.

Scott Ivlow (scottinwinterhaven) | 84 comments It's 10:15 channel surfing. I have open The Devil You Know but I haven't read a page yet because I'm posting on good reads. And keep watching TV. Is it the point when nothing is on worth watching is to read a book?

Good to know Sandy. I hope that all is going well for you at your bar. It's a tough business. Good luck and cheer to you also.

Lynn Renee | 1706 comments I'm doing good. Came here on Sunday and had to rest some. I don't have my wheelchair here yet so I have to use a walker that I have until they get my chair here. So not able to go very far, can at least get outside but it is hard. One good thing is I should lose weight. :)
