Thinking of you Lavada......it is so hard to know what to do for the best. We had a Malamute we inherited when we bought the bar. I loved her to bits. She lived to be 16 before we had to have her put down due to organ failure. The vet came out to our house and I sat down with her head in my lap in her favorite spot in the garden while the vet administered the injection. She passed away very peacefully and is buried right there. 5 years on and I still miss her every day. It was one of the hardest decisions I ever made, but she was suffering, and I didn't want that for her.
Sending you hugs () () () () 8:D

Have finally googled it Sean! What a beautiful place. Another to add to my must visit list. No cars sounds like paradise - but I see there is a tractor!

Please let us know how you and your little darling on doing. I hope Cassie is having a better time of it, now.
Xoxoxo

I've been silent as I knew I couldnt post thus without loosing it but Im ready to get back to my friends and I know how many of my family will understand my extreme pain.
thank you everyone fot your thoughts and wishes.

Lavada, I had to let my 16 1/2 year old Keisha kitty go last Saturday. She had been slwoly failing, but had been doing fairly well when I went to bed Friday night. Something bad happened in the middle of the night and she was suffering terribly Sat AM. We had to rush her to the animal ER. She was my first kitty ever and had played a key role in my life, being responsible for my making lots of friends and bringing other kitties into my life. It's been really hard without her and I cry for her every day. I think you and I know how the other is feeling. Let's try to get thru this together. I want you to know, I also strongly believe in the Rainbow Bridge, and I know Keisha and Cassie are free now, running through the meadows like a kitten, like a puppy, never to suffer again.
Thinking of you and Cassie, Chris

Animal lovers, we just adore our animals so much, and we miss them so very much.
It is so sad when we lose them.
I am just happy if I know I gave my pets a good full life, but it does still break your heart to say good bye.

We want details of your opinion, Marian.

Thank hou so much, Brenda. I have actually started a little red book for my cats with little descriptive phrases and vignettes about them. Trying to get everything I can think of down for Keisha. I do think it helps. I also put Keisha up as my iPad wallpaper where I can see her multiple times a day--sometimes I even talk to her when her little face pops up. That really helps. Thanks for validating those things for me.

My heart goes out to you for your losses. Believe me, we all send our love to you! Losing my pets is the hardest thing I have ever been thru........I spent more time with my pets than I did with my parents. (True story) My parents died <50.
The way I try to look at it.....is by savoring all the wonderfully cute things our lets did. David and I savor the terrific moments......not the sad moments.
You'd be surprised..........it really helps.
When we knew our last kitty was starting to fail, we got a puppy. Lucy had a ball with the puppy. It even seemed to perk her up a little. I cried my hardest over this tiny cat..........and then I let her go. She had a wonderful life (as all our cats/dogs have had.)
Now we share our love and attention with our two doggies.........and, periodically, we laugh and speak of Little Lucy and how wonderful she was too. Try concentrating on the happy times.
I send my sympathies.........truly.............

Details?..well,I did read the book and loved it and gave it a 5/5.I have made sure the whole world knows about my feelings on the story in general..lol!Its a psychological thriller, what can I say,and the characters in the book, truly deserve to be together. Now the movie, was brilliantly disturbing.Roseamund really shocked me with her performance as Amy..she was awesome!!Award winning awesome! And the movie is pretty much like the book.I don't want to say to much on here.My husband on the other hand, who only reads sci fi..really enjoyed Gone Girl..I was also shocked by his opinions, that is glad he went into the movie blind, not knowing about the movie.

A year before Lucy started failing, I started saving her long Persian hair, as I brushed and combed her. Morbid? No, not at all.
I have a small rug I want to hook and Lucy Poosey is my main subject. I am going to hook her beautiful hair in with the wool strips. It will be incredibly soft. Lucy gave us great joy.........I need a small rug with her sweet face on it.

What should I do next? SEE Gone Girl or READ Gone Girl????"
Tere, you can never go wrong with reading the book..just my opinion thou:)Why not do both? The book has about 415 pages in it..the movie is 2.5 hours long. The movie is worth seeing,at least seeing Roseamund Pikes performance. We first saw her in one of the James Bond movies..the one where they stay at a hotel made of Ice I think? And then the next time,we saw her in Jack Reacher's One Shot movie.

I don't want my vision of Reacher ruined.
Thanks tho

Thanks, Ter'e. It's good to hear from those who have been thru it.

I think that is brilliant, Ter'e. I want to see a photo when you are done.

Thank you, DA. It's tough. I wish your baby another few years of good health. The cat record for age is over 30, so we can always hope our kids can approach that.

I can only imagine your lonliness, Lavada. At least I still have 6 kitties. I think of you often these days.

Ter'e; I agree: I read the book; loved it and can't wait to see the film.

DA........22 years. WOW! That is just wonderful. You are so lucky.

DA, has your vet ever recommended Cosequin for your arthritic kitty? Can really help some of these little patients. We have 5 of our 6 kitties (all but the 3 year old--the rest are teenagers) on it.

I lost my 16 1/2 yr old first kitty ever (Keisha) 9 days ago and Lavada lost her elderly one and only dog Cassie last Thursday. )-:
Just back from playing my snooker league, and our team won 6 frames to 2.
Pleased I won both my matches.
Now going to watch, Blacklist or Legends or Last Ship !
Hopefully fit in a little reading after the TV, as The Magpies is very good.
Then sleep, as we get up at 5.00 am everyday.
Tennis tomorrow night.

My heart goes out to any animal lover, when we lose our animals it breaks our hearts.
But we must remember we give them a good, happy life filled with love.

Thanks Skye, Marian and Sean. (-:

It IS heartbreaking. But be grateful for every minute she/he has spent with you. My Aussie Shepherd mix is over 15! Every morning I send a thank you up to Heaven when I see she is still with me! You are SO lucky that cats live so long. Last March, we lost Misty's sister and it nearly broke me.
