alphabetized authors question

This is more of a curiosity question, but also a should something be fixed question and I've apparently not hit on the right key words to find it in the Manuel.

Has anyone else noticed that sometimes when listing books alphabetically, by author that there are often several authors that come up before the first A. For example, on my own shelves if I alphabatize then Gianna Carini (formerly Perada), E.M. Jade, Marianne Morea and several others come up before the first name starting with A,

It occurred to me that this may be spaces for separating authors with the same name, but I've not found evidence for or against it. Mainly, I'm just anal enough to be bothered by this, but don't know if anything is actually wrong. Is there something I can be fixing? (And I'm really hoping that when someone answers I'm not forced to jus go DUH!)

I've had this happen to me as well and it's always with authors part of the GR Author program. All you need to do is email into support and they will fix them.

ETA: I think it has to do with the authors removing the sort by name in error? Not 100% sure though.

Email them what, "Hey, this author is not alphabetizing correctly?"

I take that to mean it's not something that can be fixed at our level then. :-(

Sorry, yes just email them links to the author pages and say they're sorting incorrectly before the letter A in your shelves.

And no, as they are Goodreads Authors, we cannot fix them.
