Name: Keket Cephie

Gender: Female

Age: Unknown

Race: Void star

Nationality: Alzarian

Appearance:

Religion: Cult of Tenderis/Path of Izar

Powers: Immense dark magic power: This girl knows every dark spell in the book. She could cure you to the point your bother withers up into a crumpled mess, raise and entire dead army, and even transform a mighty dragon into a pitiful kitten if they aren't careful around her.

Soul manipulation: Ever wondered what it was like to be an inanimate object? To still be able to hold all your sense, yet no be able to move as a horrible girl treats you like trash/forgets you're even "alive" in the dirty old clothes she just threw in the trash? Well now you can!

Being of destruction: Just as chaotical as her dark magic is, Keket is also strong when it comes to sheer magical power. Her spells are not ones to be messed with, and she'll break more things than you could imagen.

Weaknesses: Mentally unstable: When your pass time includes trapping souls inside inanimate things, you can't really be trusted to do anything.
Body of a young girl: For all her magical power, Keket loves to just get int here and break things herself, but she's not exactly build to be a being of destruction.

Personality: If there was ever a hint that Izar and Tenderis would make a deadly pair, it comes in the form of Keket. A girl with the stealthy abilities of a nocturnal, the massive power of a wildling, and is just a crazy as you'd expect such a horrid child to be like. Keket loves everything and all things dark and evil. She loves to steal, practice dark arts, and above all else torture. Perhaps the last one being personal taste, it is what she loves to do above all else. She is, after all, not just the spawn of tenderis' magic, but also the magic of his higher race. She in turn is immensely strong because of it, and with all that strength she needed something to test her magic on. That sadly ended up being the weaker races.

Keket loves to try out new spells on people to see how they react. To hear there screams. To see the life and will to live leave there eyes, but she doesn't like outright killing them. Where's the fun in testing spells if they die? If anything after she breaks your body, she breaks your mind, and after she breaks your mind she breaks your soul. Bodies used to fill the inside of her home. With bruises, cuts, and things far more unspeakable things parading the body, but there would be no hint at a soul, nothing would go back to the life and death gods. Why? Because Keket trapped their soul inside her hair pin to keep her favorite little tortured soul with her at all times. This is probably a better fate than those whose bodies live through her torture, because many become so mentally damaged they act like her slaves. Starving themselves because she forgets to order them to eat.

Despite this cruelty though, Keket isn't beyond reasoning. She considers herself a follower of Izar, so she does her best to keep from displeasing her. Which means most of her little torture stunts are done in secret with individuals no one would care if they were gone. She tries her best to be kind to people (even if she comes off as creepy) and many people are spared of her torture if they befriend her on a good day. She's just a woman who was sadly born from the creation of two of the more darker gods, and as such is cursed to a few rather nasty habits, but she tries her best to stay on a positive moral side!..... Unless beastlings are involved.

History: Keket is a void star. Meaning she was born from the void through a large sum of magical energy collecting in on itself into one being. Although, the energy on of all of Rondamere does not collect in one place, instead each nation (or each largely populated city) gathers energy in the void separate from each other. This makes from some unique Void stars that share traits from the locations of energy they pawned from. This can create some amazing things like artsy Ferrontie-esc void stars, draconic-esc voidstars, and even proud Vroulike-esc void stars! Although, it can also create something horrible. Something hateful. After all, Tenderis and his followers use magic too, and so even he can spawn void stars. Keket is one such void star. A woman spawned from Tenderis' own acts, as well as the magical acts of his followers. They together spawned a corrupted and evil little being.

Being born to a place as cruel as Alzarius would be hard on anyone, but some could consider Keket to be one of the challenges one has to face in order to prove to Tenderis you are strong. After all, she was just as ferocious as any monster, but the fate for losing to her was far worse than death. Many of her early records show she would transform those who she came across into bugs, or trapped their souls in small items like toothpicks. Leaving their souls to never be at rest as they gathered dust and grime in the garbage. Even if the wildlings were a higher race, she was born from both them and their god, and already knew much of their magic (or at least was smart enough to only attack the weaker links in society). It was quite clear she was going down the path of becoming an immensely powerful, and dangerous, being. Tenderis could have shaped her to be something worse, but Izar got to the girl first.

By the time Keket was born, Izar had already figured out what the void stars were, and was doing her best to find these void stars before the other Gods got their hands on them (after all she didn't want other gods to have accesses to her void through them). In the end, Izar had obtained the dark void star without even Tenderis knowing what he had just missed out on (probably). Now with another Void star under her control, the Void Goddess set out to train Keket to use her void powers properly, and, for the first time, teach one of her followers a strict positive moral role.

Keket was still a horrible monster when Izar first got her, and it was quite clear she was eager to test out her magic on a race that wouldn't put up as much of a fight as the wildlings did. They would have been the perfect test dummies, but Izar did her best to teach the inhumane void star at least some humanity. Nothing Izar did completely cured Kekets insatiable need for torture and death, but as she slowly grew to control and limit the urges it seemed the rest just fixed itself. The nocturnals soon grew to love the crazed Keket. Despite knowing of her madness they were impressed by her immense magical expertise. She gained a bit of a following as a celebrity to the nocturnals who practiced things like assassinations and cursed. Her expertise came in handy and she found herself a way to get through her darker killing urges by becoming an assassin. It seemed that the monsterous void star would slowly become a well respected member of society. One so much so that she might even be the reason that so many nocturnal were okay with dark magic in the future!

But the future doesn't matter right now, because despite being a void star. She was still created by wildlings, and as such, hates beastlings with a passion, as well as hold Tenderis deep in her heart (even if she hides this fact well). With Izar siding with Olano, and their enemy soon to be Elderos, this assassin might decide to take a far more direct approach when it comes to the oncoming war.

Likes: Death
Dark magic
Stealing Souls

Dislikes: Light magic
Beastlings
Things stronger than her.

Name: Adan Pegasi

Gender: Female

Age: Unknown

Race: Void star

Nationality: Crematian

Appearance:

Religion: Path of Izar

Powers: Impossibly strong fire magic: Adan could level an entire farm in a matter of seconds. Her fires can reach temperatures that melt the weapons and armor you're wearing, and to top it all of she's just as immune to fire as any Cremat.

Sheer magical expertise: Despite focusing on fire, Adan can use other magics, all deadly, but nothing as bad as her fire magic.

Stealthy nocturnal abilities: Despite not being much of a thief or assassin, Adan is still rather stealthy, and it can be quite hard to tell if she's there or not. A skill she mostly uses to stalk the one who she is currently obsessed with.

Weaknesses: Water/Cold: Adan's fire focus has made it harder for her to learn/combat against water and colder types of magic.
Yandere?: Adan can grow super obsessed with someone to the point she would harm them in order to gain their affection.

Personality: Adan may be a vodi star, but a better way to describe her is a broken Crematian. She is immune to fire, loves fire magic, and can grow dangerously obsessed with something, but that something is not the Goddess Helia. Which makes Adan a broken Cremat, and a broken Cremat is a scary thing. Especially when you take the fire magic of a Cremat, and put it on a higher race like a void star.

That isnt' to say that Adan can't function, it's just that she could be considered more dangerous than even the most obsessed Helia followers. Why? Because Cermatian's passion for Helia is absolute and always their. It would be strange for a Cremat to not love Helia, but since Adan doesn't hold this passion for Helia (but still has the urge to hold a strong passion for something) and because her passion is not on Helia it can fade. Sometimes this fade can lead to anger, an explosive anger that can cause Adan to burn everything in sight. Her fire scaring off even the dragons.

Despite Adan's tendency to go through spurs where she grows obsessed with something (mainly people she has a crush on) and fits of rage when she is denied by those she is obsessed with. She tends to be a rather soft spoken and mellow person. She tends to be a woman of few words, and as such keeps her emotions under lock and key. The only thing that can usually get her to speak up more is a good friend, or the one she has grown obsessed with. Keep in mind though she is Cremat obsessed, so her words and phrases may come of as creepy or weird when she does start talking.

History: Cremat Void stars are a rather interesting occurrence. Due to being spawned from a race of people crazy for their goddess, many Cremats grow obsessed with something as well. Whether this be Helia, Izar, money, or something else all depends on when Izar takes them and when who they first interacted with when they were spawned. The void stars spawned in the cities can be pretty mellow, but the void stars found by the more obsessed Helia followers can turn out to be just as crazy, but far more dangerous with their magical power.

Adan was one such void star found by the crazy followers after she was born. The crazed followers attacked her at first, but seeing as she kinda just appeared out of thin air, was able to shrug off their fire, and then show a level of magical power in fire magic past their own, they instead turned to thinking of her as a gift from Helia. She was immediately taken in and taught the ways of Helia, but something didn't feel right to Adan.

Her passion for the Goddes wasn't strong, and the onyl reasons he wasn't executed was because she was far stronger than the obsessed little cult could ever hope to be. Despite her lack of affection for Helia, she was infatuated with one of the crazed boy cult followers. She loved him dearly and followed him around like a little duckling, so when the boy decided to find himself a girlfriend who wasn't Adan herself, she grew enraged. In a fit of anger she attacked the cult. Her fire magic (although not affecting the cult due to their own fire immunity) was so strong it could be seen by people miles away. In the end, Adan's little fir of anger got her kicked out of the cults little group, but also got her the attention of Izar. Taking in the now alone Adan, she explained to Adan what she was, and who she was, before setting the young girl free.

Adan did sort of well in The Shadow Lands. She was no dark arts user, no super amazing thief, but her sheer magical power and tendency to grow obsessed with people allowed her to make a few friends and fit in. Even if everyone made sure to steer clear of her when she got angry. Her little spouts of anger being known to cause large forest fires that were almost impossible to put out if she wasn't careful. In the end she was jsut another powerful magical void star who came from a nation of messed up individuals, and as such became slightly messed up herself, but with talk of war on the way. Perhaps her intense fire will, for once, do more harm than good.

Likes: Finding her one true love
The one she is obsessed with
Fire/warmth

Dislikes: Being denied by her lover
Being denied by the one she is obsessed with
Ice/cold

k.c.(Kthinker) | 672 comments Name: Nexcia
Gender: female
Race:goddess of massacre and assassination
Sexuality:bisexual
Appearance:She has long blond hair like her father, porcelain white skin with a seemingly red tint, she has a slender build aside from her breasts which are quite busty. she wears a black a white dress, armor and usually has several hidden blades on her as well as a giant scythe she carries with her like a staff or cane, she is very beautiful. She wears white pumps, she also has two wrist blades.
Personality:She is bubbly, excitable and loves to have fun and party and make friends. unlike many gods and goddesses her personality does not reflect her station or powers at all. Her blood lust was developed after she was trapped in the Diety mask it is believed to be a result of the blood magic and was an effect the Blood creed intentionally included in the mask.
Powers: Nexcia has the power to turn even slight annoyance into pure murderous rage, she can also turn anyone into a psychopath, she can turn off someone's emotions entirely however the person has to be willing for that to happen, she also can make anyone including herself completely undetectable.she can also gift someone with the skills of a master assassin, she can extend her fingers into sword like claws this is ability that is apparent when someone uses the mask she is trapped in as their fingers are contorted to a twisted version of them. Nexcia being the daughter of Mortus can also go in and out of the realm of the dead as she pleases before being trapped in the mask she often went there to visit old mortal friends who had died or master assassins who had died.
History:She is Mortus's daughter and has always loved her father she was also a party girl but made sure to make time for her father every day. Her history isn't that interesting until that day. the blood creed is a cult that does believe in worshiping the gods and goddesses but from the beginning they knew without a powerful being such as a deity they would not stand a chance if they attacked or were attacked by another religion. so they came up with a plan they had heard that Mortus's followers believed him to once have been a mortal man so they decided to make a mask they would imbue it with powerful blood magic then they would trap him inside then they would give the mask to a mortal who was worthy and then they would not be so defenseless. The head members of the blood creed came up with a plan to trap Mortus they tried to execute it however Nexcia had decided to skip a party that day to spend more time with her father Mortus and jumped in the way of the spell that the Blood Creed was trying to use to trap Mortus and Nexcia was sealed inside the Deity mask most of the members were slaughtered by Mortus however a small group escaped with the mask. Many years later the very magician who sealed Nexcia inside the mask now over a hundred years old gives that very mask to Scar Veil.Scar after experiencing its power and blood lust immediately thought something demonic and when he got back to Rendelll tried to get rid of it and destroy it but nothing worked. She was stored in Scar's armory and put on a pedestal seperate from the rest of his weapons and armor she grew accustomed to seeing him as he came in and out to get various things and also when he needed to use her to intimidate others which he rarely did he always looked at her with her fear and hatred he did not know of who she really was he only saw the mask and thought it's power stemmed from the blood magic alone so she did not hate him for how he treated her he did not know the truth.
Other: her main weapons when not in the mask is her scythe and hidden knives. She is close to her father and has a very good relationship with him. Nexcia finds Scar interesting and wishes she could talk to him for real.

Name: Entraikin ‘Enki’ (N-TRA-kin) Fairdragon

Gender: Female

Age: 6087 (appears 18)

Race: Dragon

Nationality: Wanderer

Appearance: https://goo.gl/images/R08TFK (Didn't draw this btw)
https://goo.gl/images/8nWbth

Religion: Unsure

Powers: • Enki can as a dragon, can spout bat like wings at any moment, after having centuries of practice. She is an excellent flier, and can use her wings better than feet.

•As a fire type dragon, she can shoot fire from any parts of her body. Preferably her fingertips, mouth, legs, (and tail only in full dragon mode)

•In human form, she can use fire but not as powerful in her dragon form. She can fight with fire sometimes coming from her hands, legs, and feet. As in using fireballs, kicking someone with fire exuding from her leg, and punching something with a flaming fist. As explained before her wings even in her human form can sprout and those too may catch fire.

•Finally, Enki can turn into her full dragon form. In this form she is a red hot blazing dragon, who sets herself on fire and isn't fully aware of her surroundings. This only happens if you make her abnormally angry or in fatal combat or war. Though once she regains back her regular human body, she passes out for a couple hours, days, or even weeks depending on how long she was in that form. If in her dragon form to long, Enki has a 50/50 chance of dying.

Weaknesses:
~ For being alive so long, Enki has seen things that have actually broken her. When she was little, her witch friend had been burned at the stake for helping her fix a broken wing. Sadly some idealistic human had spotted her and the bishop slaughtered her in front of Enki's own eyes. From that day, Enki learned how to trust only herself and the ones she loved. Still, she's broken inside. Though she hides it very, very well.

• When she was born, a stubborn and confused Fae placed a spell on her. Instead of fire to burn her, this man already knew what she was and put ice over her foot that would turn her body into glass. Thankfully, her mother got it off quickly and her foot is still intact. Though, when repeatedly hit on that spot she can get a limp and was left with a scar running all the way down to the tips of her toes/talons.

Personality: Despite her fiery appearance, Enki is actually really cool, calm, and collected. She usually spends time alone in her room reading and sleeping, if not she is most likely exercising or of on a fly. Enki doesn't like being around alot of people, well... fake people. So yeah, alot of people. She dislikes having drama, but somehow always manages to get caught up in it. Enki isn't anti-social, but she isn't the party type. She'll go to some parties usually sit in a corner and observe people, witches, monsters. Anything. As long as it means not talking to some guy in the corner, I mean 'cuz, she ain't ugly.(Just Sayin')

History: Enki, was born more than 6000 years ago. Being the child of a Witch and Dragon, as you can imagine she was homeschooled. Enki was a fiery little child, but smart. She would do her math in less than a few minutes and read some ancient hieroglyphics while eating lunch. Growing up was a slow process, after all just after a few hundred years she just started to look like a seventeen year old. Throughout the years, she would attend schools all over the world! Moving from Eastern to Western countries and watching then develop. Of course she was there for all of the important movements of the world. The rise of humans wa terrifying to watch for her, so she stayed inside. Only going out when absolutely necessary. Now, since she is almost the age of her father when he first started to explore the world, Enli is being forced to go and do the same. A family tradition bringing good luck and fortune.

Likes: Toying with others, being left alone, reading, bring the powerful one, realists

Dislikes: being underestimated, forced, rushed, the less powerful one, optimists, demigods, ‘knights in shining armour’

Other:It may not seem like it, but Enki has a huge sweet tooth. Sometimes, she does appreciate romantic gestures as long as it isn't to big. Something like a candlelit picnic under stars.

UPDATED PROFILE

Name: Althea Seaswift (view spoiler)
AKA: Thea
Gender: Female
Age: looks 18 years, but age is unknown
Race: Sea Lynx
Nationality: Unknown
Religion: Follows the path of the Sea God

Appearance:
Althea's hair is silky blonde with brown dipped naturally at the ends, that she usually keeps up or braided casually. Striking sapphire eyes hidden under long lashes, compliment her pale and fair skin. When wet, her hair darkens until it is inky black, and her brown tips transform to a shade lighter than that of her eyes. Just like her race, Thea's appearance is both beautiful and enchanting.

Powers:
Althea's capability and endurance is above an average Sea Lynx. Beyond breathing underwater, and having the gift of song, what differentiates her from her race, is that her voice has the power to unleash strong emotions and memories, where generally all a Sea Lynx's voice can accomplish is daze whoever listens, at most. Much to her discontent, Thea's voice bring out the worst of memories that if probed deep enough, can not only be harmful but deadly. Needless to say, she avoids using her powers.

Weaknesses:
-Heights
-Fire
-Being apart from the sea for long periods of time
-Controlling her power
-Outcast from her race

Personality:
Althea is a survivor. She is witty, charming and has a strong ability to mask her own emotions as well as wave off everyone she meets. Thea can communicate well enough- but prefers the company of hers truly as she has come to realise that she does not need to rely on anyone, as long as she sticks close to the sea. Due to this strong mentality of hers, she is often stubborn, sarcastic, and arrogant if she feels the situation requires it. Despite her show, she is actually more talk than bite and immensely passionate about nature and animals as well as adamant in her belief that she shouldn't use her gift which she considers to be more of a curse anyway. Althea doesn't have any attachments to people- nor does she care to- but if she ever did she would be frighteningly vindictive if harm were to come to them, as when she cares, she cares deeply.

History:
Althea used to be ignorant to the extent of her powers many years ago when she was not yet an outcast of her race. Her powers were rampant and yet she didn't bother to concern herself with them as she thought it was just a temporary phase. Not long after she had found herself a human lover that she had genuine feelings for, and made the decision to leave her tribe for him. The human went by the name of Aeris. She sang to him often- and remained oblivious that every time she did so the repercussions pained him more and more as her singing grew stronger and more sure of itself. He grew ill quickly, and became more closed off from Thea, refusing to tell her what was wrong, however, he insisted that she kept singing if only because he had become entranced by her voice. It wasn't until the last time she sang to him that she realised that his illness was of her doing. She had somehow convinced him of a new reality by projecting dark memories and nightmares and fears that had slowly turned him in on himself. It was when he died that night- frail as ever, that Althea finally realised that her powers had caused his death.
Unsure of what to do Althea tried returning to the other Sea Lynx, but they refused to let her in as she had left their ways for a human. It didn't help her case when she explained her powers- which only turned the other creatures to dismiss her more. Thus began Althea's closed off attitude. She started to live on her own and had learnt to love it. She had been on her own ever since.

Likes:
-Nature & Animals
-Water
-Getting her way
-Challenging herself

Dislikes:
-Heights
-Using her gift on others
-Her race
-Fire

Other: Althea has no family, other then her race. Due to her reputation as an outcast, she lives in a separate area of the sea, away from them.

Limmy-Sama!! (limthium) | 401 comments Name: Lyra Asteri (Paper)

Gender: Female

Age: Unknown

Race: Void Star

Nationality: Elderos

Appearance:

Religion: Follower of Light

Powers: Beacon of Hope: Lyra is gifted in the power to heal and strengthen people’s physical bodies. Lyra’s ability to heal greatly excides all others, the ability to close mortal wounds, mass heal wounded soldiers and yet her closest kept power, the power of resurrection.
Champion of Light: Her power of radiant light tests the very souls of people. Its harms people of ill-will and conquers evil. Known as the ‘Purifying light’, this power she controls brings damnation to the damned, destroying the undead.
Void Star: The very nature of a void star is their sheer immense power. Aside from her holy magic Lyra knows a vast array off other spells she uses to assist her in combat.

Weaknesses. Lyra is the textbook definition of a support mage, physically weak and squishy and does not usually want to start casting big damage spells in fear of hurting her friends or getting them hurt by not playing her roll. Lyra has PTSD from her history with the undead and will mostly turn tail and run at the sight of them, unless if she is cornered like in a building or such.

Personality: Lyra is a symbol of hope and virtue, a guiding light against evil. She is a brave and righteous soul, who shares nothing but kindness and love to all who deserve it. She seeks to protect the weak and unfortunate, always stopping to assist the little people in life, the mistreated, the vulnerable. Lyra normally works around the world chasing evil wherever it lurks or healing people in hospitals around the realm. The amount of responsibility that amounts on her causes her deep stress, as she must uphold her image as the campion of good. She lacks her memories from before her sleep but they’re slowly coming back bit by bit, this causes her to have grievous episodes of PTSD and has made her more mentally unstable, letting her lash out at people and becoming more aggressive and out of character from her normal self.
Whenever she gets the chance to, Lyra changes from the indominable force of good to a more, subtle, delicate personality, one who enjoys looking at flowers and watching birds, enjoying the breeze from high up places and drinking hot coco and marshmallows. Its times like these where she can truly be herself, and where she is truly happy.

History: Lyra being a void star, was born from a vast amount of magical power gathered in one place. For Lyra, this amass of magic was an enormous amount of light magic with was gathered from the works first god Firefly. Followers of the first god were quick snatch her up, worried that Izar would try to get to her first. They took Lyra in and trained her to be a follower of the light and life, and as a protector of good. In their eyes, Lyra was a gift from their god for their unwavering devotion and trained to be that exact image. Many, many years after her creation Lyra had completed her training and was sent out into the world to spread the word of light and to protect the world from darkness. Lyra on the other hand had a different view, after traveling for a while, she saw many suffering people, simple people, and took it upon herself to become their voice, their guardian, their light. She defeated a tyrant lord over a suffering village and offered to become the lady over that land, the people were over joyous to have her become the owner of their once tyrant lord’s lands. She then settled down here and replaced the lords manor with a large chapel where she lived and prayed to Firefly and taught her followers too, even paladins from her village which became her own elite force. She lived her in peace from the world for 200 years
One day a necromancer appeared outside her village in the middle of the night, he killed everyone before reanimating their bodies and used them to kill more people. This man was a follower of Tenderis and was sent to destroy Firefly’s ‘child’. Lyra eventually overcame the waves of the undead, forced to kill her own people that were reanimated from the sanctity of her church. She was distraught and in shock, feeling as if she had failed everyone she loved so dearly. The necromancer was defeated and fled the destroyed village, swearing that he will come back with an army of Tenderis’ followers and destroy her once and for all. Lyra’s remaining guard took heed to this warning and in a act to protect their dear Lyra, they sealed her in a deep underground tomb outside of the village, putting her in a suspended animation which lasted for over 1000 years
Tendreris searched for Lyra over this 1000-year period but was unsuccessful in finding her, although his magic did leave its mark on her, tormenting her from inside her mind, replaying the images of her killing her own people over and over and over, till eventually, she forgot it, she forgot it all, she just floated in animation no memory of who she was before, or anything.

Likes: Light, life and the small joys that life offer. She loves helping people, acts of kindness and love. She enjoys walking through fields of flowers and listening to birds, scoring through the skies and the clouds.

Dislikes: Dark magic, monsters and being of evil. Acts of great evil and hatred such as assassinations, murders and crimes of war, slavery. She hates the system of the wealthy rule over the poor and the mistreating of the innocent. She’ haunted by her own weakness and mortality and fear of the undead.

Other: Theme Song – Oh Lord – In This Moment

Limmy-Sama!! (limthium) | 401 comments Name: Izumi Shimomura

Gender: Female

Age: Unknown

Race: Moondancer/Wildling

Nationality: Shadowlander

Appearance:

Religion: Path of Izar

Powers: Animal Form: Izumi; being half Wildling can transform into a silver fox, tho only small in size
Illusion magic: Izumi is capable of casting illusion magic, such as snuffing out any lights in her visible range, creating sensatory illusions and hallucinations.
Blink: Izumi has the unique ability to blink forward at insanely high speed, giving it the name ‘blink’. The movement is so fast that she can travel up to 50ft in a blink of an eye.

Weaknesses.
Mental: Izumi is an assassin at birth, shes trained her whole life, which means she is incredibly cold. This coldness has lead to loneliness, which in turn bitterness. This bitterness can become blinding during fights that turn against her, throwing her into a careless rage.
Physical: Her body is small and frail, designed and trained for ambushing and speed, such as you’d expect for an assassin. She cant handle drawn out battles well either, using all her strength in the initial effort.

Personality: Izumi is an assassin by birth, shes cold, ruthless and professional. Her only loyalties lie with her contracts, and her clan. She obeys a contract like law, although, a contract is just a contact. One person may hire her, but then after that, she might come back and kill that very person for a different employer. Outsode of her work environment, Izumi is arrogant, and stubborn, selfish too, using her magic and seductive words to lure people like mice into a trap, often to feed or rob them.

Landon Carter is anything but sweet. He can be charming, for sure, arrogant, conceited, and most definitely impulsive. But the nocturnal does not do sweetness. Instead his pale amethyst eyes complimented by loosely ruffed hair will almost certainly be accompanied by a smirk. If not? Then at least a wolfish grin.

As a thief and master of the shadows, Landon does not just have one personality. He is whatever he needs to be, molded by the desire of whatever he plans to steal. Never standing out, but yet never blending in either, he might as well be a phantom of the night.

True to his kind, Landon's prowess bypasses the norm and borders the exceptional. He will steal anything he comes across- even if its not appealing- if only for the challenge than anything else. Lying and manipulating others is not beneath him contrary to the fact that he thinks very highly of himself. He is proficient in magic, as well, with a knack to wield and shape the shadows, among other things.

With the ability to analyse, mimic and reverse engineer anything he can get his hands on, Landon understandably prefers being confined by his own company. But his isolation could also be credited by the fact that he does not mix well with people. Acting is easy- but actually caring and taking that step into the 'I actually care about you' lane, is another thing entirely, especially when the relationship is real. Perhaps he fears the unknown- though he would never admit that aloud.
Landon knows himself, his capabilities and limits well enough, but other people are wild cards.

Landon's parents are a long forgotten memory, and his race likely somewhere else in the shadows if he bothered or cared enough to look for them. Currently he roams across the kingdoms as if in search for something, but what that something is- he'd like to know as well.

the_rabid_snail | 53 comments Topon V. Inova - Part One

Name: Topon Valor Inova
Nicknames: Topaz

Gender: M

Age: 25

Race: Sun Warrior

Nationality: None; Topaz is a wanderer

Appearance: Topon has thick, jet-black hair that will occasionally light on fire if he's especially ticked off and gleaming eyes of liquid amber that reflect whatever he happens to be looking at. He towers over people at 6'2, and his large frame is made of only muscle and grit. Basically, he's ripped, but he doesn't walk with an air of condescension. Rather, he holds himself like a soldier: shoulders back, stomach in, chin level, neck elongated, arms and legs straight, fingers pointing down, straight back, and hips under. Never does he slouch or do anything to compromise his militaristic posture. He even walks stiffly as if he was a robot, which, in a sense, he is. His voice is simply matter-of-fact only. He never shows any emotion through speaking or any other mannerism, which only serves to isolate him even more from society. His skin is a light shade of olive and is always warm to the touch thanks to the fire that burns within him. He has a square jaw and thick eyebrows that are sometimes furrowed into a deep frown as well as defined cheekbones and a slightly crooked nose from a particularly nasty incident when he was a youth. He has huge hands and feet that work to his advantage in dealing powerful punches. His shoulders are broad, and his legs are a bit longer than his torso. He has a small scar just above his right eye and a secret tattoo of a firebird on his back. Other than that he possesses no other distinct markings except for a few battle scars across his chest and stomach.
He is usually seen only in his armor or traveling clothes. When wandering the lands aimlessly, Topaz typically wears trousers and tunics in neutral or earthy tones, preferring to appear unremarkable. Brown leather boots protect his feet from the terrain, and his ornate broadsword is normally sheathed at his side in a plain scabbard. Since he has a strong frame, his full armor is rather heavy and skillfully crafted, but often he forgoes his helmet except in cases of extreme danger.

Religion: Topaz follows no one religion in particular. He respects most deities but is not a true follower of any of them.

Powers:

Sunlight: As a Sun Warrior, Topaz has unparalleled speed, strength, and agility as well as heightened senses and inhumanly fast reflexes while in direct sunlight.

Fire: Topaz also possesses fire magic. He can manipulate and create fire and has higher heat resistance than most beings. As a side effect, his own internal body temperature is a few degrees higher than normal.

Weaknesses:

Topaz’s enhanced physical attributes desert him when he is not in direct sunlight, and he returns to being of human strength.

Because of his higher body temperature, he has a strong aversion to cold weather, and it costs him energy to keep himself warm enough by using his fire magic.

He is truly horrible at any kind of social interaction that doesn’t involve intimidating someone, and as a result of behaving like an unfeeling robot, he has very few allies he could count on if he ever needed help.

While he won’t go out of his way to disrespect any of the gods and goddesses, he does not harbor much love or even mere fondness for any of them and is likely not high on their list of favored beings.

Personality: At first glance, people can completely tell that he has a militaristic background. The stiff way he walks, the controlled swinging of his arms, the way he never looks down at the ground (even when talking to someone far shorter than him. He just stares over their head at something behind them), and the way his shoulders are always back speak volumes about his past and his personality. He's logical and even a little wily at times, yet he is also daring and brave, knowing when and when not to make calculated risks. He's someone that most people instantly respect for his bravery and natural leadership qualities, but as one comes to know more about him, a deeper, more sincere respect begins to develop for his honorable principles and uncompromising values. Even though he can seem emotionless, he truly cares for each and every person in his life, but he doesn't like to show it. He doesn't really know how to in the first place. The way he shows he cares is protecting all people in his life, especially the men and women who serve under him or under whom he serves, though now that he’s left the army this only applies to any innocent people he encounters on his travels. He's loyal to the very end no matter how bad or how tense things get. He doesn't get embarrassed easily or care what other people think about him, so he has no issues standing up for what or whom he believes in. If there's an injustice done, you can count on him to do something about it, but sometimes his actions don't exactly follow the law, causing him to get into trouble, especially with his superiors who didn't want him casting a negative light on the army when he was in their service. Still, he hasn't done anything serious enough to get into major trouble with the law. Yet. Topon also feels like his soldiers are family to him. He never lets on that he feels this way, but if you know him well enough, the signs are obvious. He doesn't take foolish risks, and he doesn't send men and women on missions that will certainly lead to their deaths. His motto is "no man (or woman) left behind." He will gladly sacrifice his life to save but one person, knowing that he will have died an honorable death that was not in vain. He also was always willing to patiently listen to a fellow soldier and help them out if he could by offering advice or service. He doesn't do so well with emotions, but anyone knows that if you ask him his opinion, he won't tell you what you should do; he'll tell you what the right and honorable thing to do is. Topon values honor highest above all else. He has no patience for cold-blooded killers or for those who prey on the weak, and he'll make sure they get what's coming to them.

History: Topon was the first child born to Israfel and Demelza Inova, nomadic Sun Warriors who traveled across the continent defending individuals and small villages from sinister threats. Even after he was born, Topaz’s parents continued moving from place to place and kept up their lifestyles fraught with danger, and it wasn’t until his younger sister, Hannen, was born that they finally settled down in one place. That place happened to be Ferros, and his father took up a job as a blacksmith while his mother joined the ranks of the army.
Since his mother was a captain in the army, he was raised primarily by his father, but he looked up more to Demelza than Israfel. Israfel was a kindly man and as a good a father as he was able to be, but Topaz had bigger aspirations. He wanted to be in the army like his mother and badgered her constantly to tutor him and let him train to be a soldier. Eventually when he was old enough, Demelza gave in, albeit reluctantly, against the wishes of Israfel. Hannen remained silent on the matter, knowing better than to challenge her brother’s bullheadedness. She was wise for her age but just as stubborn – if not more so – than him, but she knew how to pick and choose her battles. Since she and Topaz were not very close, she deduced correctly that he would not listen to her.
Topaz took to his lessons quickly, proving to be very talented just like Demelza. Because of his bigger frame and some of the muscle he had already built up from working with his father, a blacksmith, he excelled in combat training. But though he was talented, his restless nature did not allow for much patience and inhibited some of his success when it came time to learning stratagem.
Topaz became more distant from Hannen as he immersed himself in his training and studies, which gave everyone fewer headaches in the end since Hannen and Topaz were both so infuriatingly stubborn that sometimes they would argue for hours. With Topaz preoccupied, the heated debates lessened considerably. It also helped that Topaz was often too tired from training and his duties because his sister usually had her head in the clouds, forcing him to be the practical sibling and see to the day-to-day needs of the house. As it turned out, this would set a precedent for the remainder of his life.
But when a deadly sickness started to spread across the lands, Topaz was made to stay home and away from the other soldiers and trainees by his father. However, Hannen would not be made to keep away from the hospitals. She was a devout worshipper of the even the most archaic deities and counted on them to spare her from any epidemics or plagues. Topaz, ever the skeptic of her beliefs, ordered her not to expose herself to the sickness, but she paid him no heed, convinced utterly that it was her obligation to help the sick and ailing as a vestige of the deities of life and that they would protect her as long as she remained faithful and devoted and helped the less fortunate, causing harm to no one. Unfortunately she succumbed to the illness she was fighting against in the makeshift hospitals in poorer towns. But instead of abandoning her faith, she remained steadfast, convinced that she was being punished for the many she hadn’t been able to heal. Some in her care had lived, but others had died. She wept for the deceased and then for her own plight, terrified of her coming death as her symptoms were never relieved; they only worsened. Israfel caught the sickness too, taking care of his daughter while Demelza was away on a campaign.
Topaz was left to care for Hannen and Israfel. Trying times for all three of them, certainly. Topaz knew little of caring for the ill and even less of comforting bedside manner. How did he react to Hannen’s constant fears of death and sometimes barely coherent chants and pleas to deities who had clearly abandoned her? He had little to offer her in the ways of comfort, and his feelings were mixed of worry and relief when she fell to almost constant delirium and stayed mostly unaware of her surroundings.
Meanwhile, Israfel slowly regained strength and seemed to be recovering, but Hannen only grew continually worse. She started hallucinating and would sometimes scream horrifically in pain and fear when she managed to shake the delirium for a short while. When she was awake and conscious, she would describe her dreams and hallucinations to him, and he often wished she wouldn’t since they were gory, grotesque, and bone-chilling. But still he felt sympathy for her, wishing she would be better soon.
Eventually Hannen completely lost the ability to talk coherently. She would be fully awake and conscious, but she would babble on in unintelligent sounds and made-up words. The most frightening part of all of that was that she acted like she was speaking perfect English and grew frustrated when Topaz and Israfel couldn’t understand her. They tried to explain it to her, but her mind couldn’t grasp or comprehend the concept. Day by day her mental functions deteriorated, and her hallucinations and bouts with delirium worsened. For a time she had been awake and conscious more, but now she delved back into her mad chants and sobbing pleas.
The morning she died came as a strange relief to both Topaz and Israfel. A piercing shriek came from her room early one morning, and by the time Topaz had burst into her room, she was dead. They buried her under her favorite tree and forged a marker in the smithy. When Demelza returned from her campaign a few months later, she was heartbroken and forbid Topaz from resuming his training once the sickness had mostly passed. She would not lose another child if she could help it.

History cont'd: A few months after the death of Hannen, Topaz and both his parents departed from Ferros and resumed their nomadic lifestyle. Demelza said everything in Ferros reminded her of Hannen, and she couldn’t bear it any longer. Now that Topaz was older and there were no small children to think of, the family could return to traipsing across the continent and fulfilling their honor-bound duties as Sun Warriors, which was exactly what they ended up doing. Of course since they were also facing danger on a regular basis, Demelza allowed Topaz to continue his training under her, much to his delight, but before the matriarch of their family could teach him all she knew, she was slaughtered by a ghoul when she and Topaz were trying to guard a trade convoy. While passing through, the villagers of a small town had asked for their help in protecting them and their supplies when they traveled to the next town over as recently they had been attacked by ghouls on their route. Demelza and Topaz had obliged, leaving Israfel to remain in town and gather new supplies, weapons, and armor to replace the items that had been too damaged or worn to be functional anymore. Everything went well until the convoy was attacked, and several ghouls targeted Demelza all at once. Topaz was too far away to help, fighting his own battle, but he had a clear line of sight and was able to watch his mother get skewered to death and horrifically torn apart. Presently, the clouds blocking the sun were tugged away by a breeze, and in his rage, Topaz slew every single one of the attacking ghouls, saving most of the villagers and their supplies.
Afterwards, it was only Israfel and Topaz, but after several incidents where Topaz couldn’t control himself and injured innocent bystanders, his father decided it was time to try something more sedentary again. This time, they relocated to Elderos, and much to his father’s dismay, Topaz promptly joined the army and rose quickly in rank. His strength and fire magic prowess did not go unnoticed, and though he was among the most destructive, he was one of the most effective at slaying the waste beasts in Elderos. He led campaign after campaign against them, quickly growing smarter and gaining the ability to plan out successful stratagems on his own. He had always kept silent on the matter of his father in Elderos, knowing that another Sun Warrior in the army would be too tempting a prospect for anyone to pass up, but somehow or other it got out eventually. Israfel joined his platoon, and with his father’s skill and experience, Topaz could organize larger-scale attacks. However, he let his continued successes get to his head, and he planned a risky operation against the counsel of his father. The endeavor ended with Israfel being killed by a few of the beasts and Topaz burning them to ashes along with his father’s body. Immediately upon returning to the city, Topaz resigned from his post and left Elderos, and he’s been roaming the continent with no real rhyme or reason, only stopping to protect an innocent or helpless person, ever since then.

the_rabid_snail | 53 comments Moko C. Pendra - Part One

Name: Moko Ciaran Pendra

Gender: M

Age: 19

Race: Human

Nationality: Elderos

Appearance:

Religion: Mainly Way of the Vagus, but he also respects Firefly, Aileas, and Flora to an extent

Powers: None

Weaknesses:

Moko has no powers. At all. This puts him at a severe disadvantage in conflict or troublesome situations against other beings with magic.

Someday his impulsivity will be the death of him. When he is forced to stay still or remain in the same place for too long, he cannot control himself and does something rash without thinking through the potential consequences of his actions.

Personality: While being pretty friendly and a bit of a prankster, Moko is actually a loner born and bred, and there really is no other lifestyle more suited to him, even if it seems to contradict some of his personality traits. His adventurous spirit makes him a bit of a wanderer, so he never stays in one place for very long, looking for excitement and new discoveries. He’s known for not being able to sit still for more than five minutes, and his attention span is even shorter. The only exception is if it’s something or someone he deeply cares about. He has several little tics he uses to maintain concentration: bouncing his leg, tapping his fingers, biting his nails, etc.
He has serious commitment issues though, and it contributes to his inability to stay in any one place for too long. Even things he loves he’ll eventually abandon. This has made long-term relationships very rare and sparse for him, so he hardly ever attempts to form a friendship more than friendly banter as he knows he’ll leave and never come back again. At heart he wishes he could pursue a more sedentary lifestyle as almost always being on the move makes for an especially lonely one, and having a hand to hold (either figuratively or literally) on dark, chilly nights would bring about a comfort that is in short supply. But he simply cannot bear monotony. Waking up in the same house every day, seeing the same sights and people, and doing the same work day after day bores him until he does something impulsive and just up and disappears in the night without informing anyone as to his intended whereabouts with no plans to ever return in the future. He sincerely believes that consistency and safety dull the mind and degrade creativity and originality to the point of mediocrity and apathetic humdrum. The word settle is not in his vocabulary, and he thinks others shouldn’t have to resign themselves to a prison of languid, pointless routine. Experiences shape a person’s thoughts, actions, and mannerisms, and only the majestic and tremendous events inspire exceptionality. To truly live and make something of yourself, you have to wander aimlessly and experience as many unimaginable, implausible things as possible. That is, in essence, Moko’s philosophy.
Moko’s skin is rather tough. Insults, cruel jokes, and malicious pranks don’t really get to him since he honestly cares little for what anyone else thinks of him. He never plans on running into the same people more than once anyway, and as he does not form attachments to most people, it seems to him that other people who taunt him are really just wasting their own time. He would have to care about others in the first place to be hurt by their mockery and slanderous attacks, but purposely keeping people at arm’s length prevents this qualification from being met.
Meeting plenty of unsavory and deceitful characters through his wanderings has caused him to adopt a distrustful and cynical approach to new and unfamiliar situations. He always makes sure he has some form of insurance for himself, which has saved his hide on more than one occasion in his past travels. Though he generally has a laid back attitude, he is by no means slow, lazy, or dim-witted. In fact, it’s rather the opposite, and he is one of the sneakiest and wiliest people in existence. He has the most annoying habit of unearthing secrets other people would prefer stay hidden if he sticks around long enough, and the vast variety of people he’s encountered has taught him how to read others exceptionally well. From simple conversations he can discern any number of things about a person, including their wants, fears, attachments, personality traits, and more. Usually he only cares about whether or not someone poses a threat to him, but if he intends on remaining nearby for long enough he’ll analyze anyone he encounters more seriously.

History: Moko’s parents were Ahab and Nia Pendra, two airheads whose marriage was an enigma. Neither of them could ever be depended on to do even the simplest of tasks, like showing up for work on time or hanging the laundry out to dry. None of their neighbors understood why they were married, and whenever Moko asked around, no one could remember exactly how they came to be so. There had been no real courtship or even anything resembling one beforehand. Ahab and Nia had known each other for a while as they had grown up together in the same neighborhood, and one day when they had barely reached adulthood a couple years prior, they suddenly returned from their respective family vacations and announced their engagement. A whirlwind of wedding preparations commenced immediately after, and they were married only months later. According to the neighbors, they had never been well matched, and the first year of their marriage consisted of many late nights and shouting matches. About a year and a half after his parents had said their vows at the altar, Moko was born, and his only contribution to his parents’ evening arguments was to cry in distress. When he got older, his parents took to fighting when he wasn’t around after he asked them what he had done to make them hate each other so as a young child.
Moko’s mother stayed home while he grew up, but in truth, it would have made little difference if she hadn’t. Nia was irresponsible and impatient, and her housekeeping skills were lacking, which was evident as the state of the house was always messy, like a tornado had just whipped through it. As Moko got older, most – actually, all – of the household chores fell to him. He learned to cook from a neighbor after he nearly burnt the house down trying to make himself something for dinner, and he taught himself how to dust, clean, and organize, which wasn’t terribly difficult. The three girls next door let him do laundry with them in their yard, though sometimes he did it alone as the youngest of the girls, Corela, ceaselessly batted her eyes at him and ruffled his hair whenever he was near. The other two, Rosalie the elder sister and Dahlia their cousin, were much more relaxed and typically better company, even if Rosalie did sometimes tease him for silly things. He was uncertain why Dahlia lived with the sisters and their parents instead of her own, but after both sisters gave him a threatening glare when he tried to broach the subject one afternoon, he never brought it up again.
While Moko was going to school and keeping the house in decent shape, Nia did… whatever it was she did. Moko honestly had no idea what she did with her abundance of leisure time, but when he finally did find out, it shouldn’t have come as a surprise given how flighty his mother was. Apparently, his parent’s marriage had always been so unhappy and fraught with fights that his mother had sought comfort in the arms of one of their neighbors. It started out innocent, but in the last couple of years it had turned into an affair. When Moko’s father found out, he was livid, and Moko took refuge next door with Dahlia, Rosalie, and Corela, though his parents’ voices carried to the girls’ porch where they were lounging in the rocking chairs with snacks and glasses of chilled tea.
In the following months, Moko spent most of his time with the neighbors, often heading directly next door with the girls right after school to avoid the near-tangible tension in the air of his own home. Sometimes he helped out the elders in his neighborhood for spare pocket change, and most evenings he was sprawled out on a rocking chair or just lying down on the porch with a plate of whatever Dahlia had baked for dessert, watching Corela pick flowers or chase after moths in the yard while Rosalie perused through a book or hummed a tune softly. Every so often, the oldest sister could be persuaded to serenade them with a song, and after the echoes of the last note faded into silence, she would blush madly despite Moko and Dahlia’s enthusiastic applause and ask if there was any dessert leftover, scampering into the house to check before anyone could answer. Moko’s favorite dessert was Dahlia’s dump cake since she usually let him help or, rather, pester her into letting him pick the fruit for the filling. As there was really no way to mess up a dump cake, Dahlia allowed him to pour in the fruit while she mixed the rest of the ingredients and sliced the butter into small squares for the crust, and sometimes when she wasn’t looking, he snuck a piece of fruit in his mouth instead of putting it in the cake pan. Sadly, she caught him a few times and made him weed the garden with Rosalie, who was fortunately better company. While Dahlia was stern and practical, Rosalie was more carefree, content to imagine the adventures she wanted to have someday, and that was one of the things Moko liked best about her, though her angelic singing was not to be underappreciated either. Being nearly the same age, Moko liked mapping out where they should go once they finished school. Of course, Dahlia and Corela were welcome to come along too, but somehow he doubted they’d want to. Rosalie obliged him, adding her own preferences to the map, and eventually they had a solid roadmap sketched out. But events transpired that put a dent in their plans.
Things between Moko’s parents got worse and worse until his father accepted a job promotion that placed him in another city. However, he would not allow either Nia or Moko to accompany him. Not able to take it anymore, Moko’s mother ran off with their adulterous neighbor a couple months later, and Moko was left alone. After a week of going to school and carrying on as normal, he realized there was no reason for him to stay. No real obstacles to keep him from embarking on his adventure existed, and he elatedly packed the essential supplies and a few other things he couldn’t bear to part with and threw pebbles at Rosalie’s window that night until she climbed down the tree near the side of the house. He had been so sure that she would spontaneously agree to go with him that he was unprepared when she said no. She hadn’t finished school, but even if she had, she wouldn’t be able to live with herself if she left in the middle of the night without giving Dahlia, Corela, and her parents a proper goodbye. Moko grabbed her hand as she turned to leave and embraced her tightly, only releasing her to peck her on the lips in farewell. He left, disappointed, but promised himself that he would return for her in a year or two, cementing the picture of her astounded face when he kissed her in his memory.

History cont'd: His travels took him out of Elderos and all over the continent, but every adventure he had ultimately reminded him of Rosalie at some point. So, a couple years after he left, he returned to visit Rosalie, Dahlia, and Corela. Dahlia, being the oldest of the three, was married now and happily scraping by in another part of town. Corela was still in school, but Rosalie was working. Smart as she was, Moko assumed she had finished her schooling early. Come to find out, that was not the case. Rosalie and Corela’s parents had died in an accident, forcing the older of the sisters to drop out of school and work. Moko waited on the porch in a rocking chair for her to come home one evening with every intention of bringing her along on his next journey, but she refused, her voice and eyes lifeless compared to how they had been before he left. There were too many responsibilities, and she had to care for Corela. Dahlia couldn’t afford it, and it wouldn’t be right to leave her little sister now. She requested to hear some of his adventures and travels, and he indulged her, pleased with the sparks of excitement temporarily returning to her eyes. Before departing again, he kissed her to say goodbye, giving her his word that he would be back in several months or a year to visit. He set off, venturing even further away from Elderos this time, but he was true to his word and stayed a day and a night with Rosalie and Corela when he could manage to make it back about once or twice a year.
To this day, he roams the continent in search of new and exciting adventures, only pausing to visit Rosalie and Corela once a year as promised.
