I hope someone have read this books, it has been bugging me for so long i just cant recall the name of the book.
This is what i remenber about the book.
Genre; Fantasy, magic, god, dwafs
A young man/boy [cant remember where he come from] was given the power of magic by a forgotten goddess to help the people as the dark power that has been defeated thousands of years ago is returning, and to upgrade her position as it seem the people have forgotten about her.
He came to the city and at the same time learn to use his magic and made himself known to the king. After helping the king he earn the right to stay in the city and he was allowed to build his own tower outside the city wall.
There he learn to pratice his magic and made friends with the dwarfs. However the council of wizards/sorcerer who reside in another city is not happy that he an unknown is more poweful than them and an independent not in their control.
He save a birdman [body of a bird and head is human but with a beak who is formerly a human mage but was turn into a bird], and he let him live in the tower with him.

He also take trip on a ships [complete with sail that fly through the void as sort like a teleport way of going to other land].
that is all i recall of the books, hope it look familier to you, please help if you known the title or author name.
