^ | 86 comments The pictograms for what I take to be the author of the pre-existing edition record (a later edition to mine)on Goodreads look different to my eyes. But I do not read or speak Japanese.

I've created an 'in-process' record for my 1982 edition; see

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

... on which I've included photos of the front cover and publishing info on the last page.

Thanks for your help.

Mē-chan | 124 comments I speak a little Japanese so maybe I can help.
Author of these books is
新日本製鉄株式会社 - Nippon Steel Co.
http://nsri.nssmc.com/en/publication
Specifically, their Human Development division.
Since these books are pretty old, they used to write human development in this kanji:
能力開発屋 - literally meaning ability/capacity development shop. That's what you see on this book:
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

Newer editions have this instead
日鉄ヒューマンデベロプメント - literally meaning Nippon Steel Human Development. In this case they are using katakana (i.e borrowed English word)

I think that was confusing for you, right?
Basically, the division that publishes these is human development, they just have two ways of writing that. One with only kanji, and the other with kanji/katakana combination.

I hope this helps :)
