Book synopsis
What would happen if the world were ending?

A catastrophic event renders the earth a ticking time bomb. In a feverish race against the inevitable, nations around the globe band together to devise an ambitious plan to ensure the survival of humanity far beyond our atmosphere, in outer space.

But the complexities and unpredictability of human nature coupled with unforeseen challenges and dangers threaten the intrepid pioneers, until only a handful of survivors remain . . .

Five thousand years later, their progeny—seven distinct races now three billion strong—embark on yet another audacious journey into the unknown . . . to an alien world utterly transformed by cataclysm and time: Earth.

What should our reading schedule be?

That's up to you. You can set dates/pages/chapters, or read and comment as you go.

Right but anyone who wants to participate in the discussion should agree upon some semblance of a schedule, no?

❀Tea❀ (ttea) | 9624 comments This is really between you. No rules from us.

You do as it suits you. You can make schedule and do discussion questions, you can do schedule so everyone reads same part in the same time, or you can all just go your own speed and discuss as you go.

When your buddies come, see what works best for all and go with that.

Kirby (kirbym) | 232 comments Okay, thanks. That was my initial intention with my question but maybe I wasn't clear enough.

New buddies - should we make a schedule?

I requested this buddy read, but since my hold on the ebook came in I've already read a good chunk of it. I still have the book checked out for 13 days, though. I can stick to a schedule for discussion purposes, if anyone else wants to do it that way.

Do you want to pick a day for us and whoever else is joining to discuss part one?

message 11: by Beth (new) - rated it 3 stars

Beth | 503 comments About halfway through. Pt 1 is 7 chapters. Is 3-4 days enough for people to read to that point & discuss it?

message 12: by Nina (new)

Nina I'm in :D but don't know how long the chapters are. I have 1-2 hours reading time a day so hopefully I can get where you are in time :)
let me know when you want to start so I can get myself a copy of this on my kindle.

message 13: by Nina (new)

Nina ok i can't make it that quick .. sorry you are too fast for me ;) I am all new to this BR concept so will check out some later :)

Plethora (bookworm_r) | 2239 comments I'm interested in this book, but would be slow to get moving on it. As Ang knows, I'm already behind schedule from RL events right now.

But if you want to wait around a bit Ang...I can get my hands on a copy and eventually catch-up.

Plethora (bookworm_r) | 2239 comments Yeah, I noticed after I posted that it was being used for wobble....
