I wonder if we will ever really know.

Shelley | 1225 comments I can tell you that losing a daughter/child suddenly is a trauma that can do major physical damage. And Debbie Reynolds was older. It's not surprising to me that she died so soon after.

Its not surprising to me either. She may have had heart problems before it happened. At 84 that would not be surprising.

A similar thing happened in my family last March. My husband's sister's son committed suicide and the next day we got a call saying his sister was in the hospital with a possible heart attack. The doctors actually did not know if she was going to make it. Turned out that she did have what they called 'broken heart syndrome' and did not have any heart conditions at all. She is ok now.

I've had a few of these in my career. Husband and wife usually. Married forever and one passes away...the second one follows within a few hours :-(

Fishface | 18819 comments It's easier that way sometimes. For the decedents of course, not the people left behind. My poor cousin-in-law Richard lost his wife 3 years ago now...he's 98 and missing her so much it's hard to even imagine what he's going through. They were married at the dawn of time.
