Brian The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, written by Douglas Adams, is the first of five books in the series. In this story, Arthur Dent, a human from Earth, is trying to protest the demolition of his house until an alien race, called the Vogons, come to demolish Earth to make way for an intergalactic highway. Arthur and his friend Ford Prefect, a Betelgeusian masquerading as a human, luckily manage to leave the Earth before the planet gets destroyed. This is the beginning their journey through space, with them meeting and getting aid from many other characters.

What I liked about this book was how the characters went through the different planets and environments throughout the galaxy. Each planet felt unique and had its own charm. The humor in the book made it so that you wouldn't get bored while reading the book. I also liked how the characters added more depth to the story because each character had their own distinct personality and their interactions felt very human and real. The story was always filled with all sorts of humor and satire that made the book enjoyable to read. The book tries to present an insightful view on the meaning life and the universe, which I thought was very interesting and got me thinking about my own views on the topic.

I would recommend the book for people interested in sci-fi stories and comedy. For sci-fi fans, there is a good amount of variety in the number of species and planets that are introduced that makes it very appealing to continue reading and discover what new things the book offers. As for the humor, it is easy to understand. You don't have to be very knowledgeable to the find the humor in the story.

E.D. Lynnellen Uneasy humor likes to hide and then sneak up on you as soon as you take a bite of something.

Trying not to spit is the hard part.

That would be rude.
