Ghost | 7 comments The book is about a Black dr who makes housecalls. He runs into a group that make racist comments. I think the book title has the word Rose in it.

Fiction? Nonfiction? When did you read it? What time period is the setting? What country/region?

message 3: by Ghost (new)

Ghost | 7 comments Read about 10 years ago. Setting in US. Period maybe 60s. Can't remember fiction or none.

Ghost | 7 comments Thx but not it.

Don't remember cover. Leaning towards it being non-fiction.

Ghost, what do you remember about his family - wife, parents, children, etc.?

Whereabouts in the U.S.?

Ayshe | 4721 comments Red on a Rose seems to be it, from the Kirkus review:
"...each Saturday Jack and Lila make house calls to Baltimore’s poor and elderly black community. On one such day, when they stop at a convenience store for a bottle of Jack’s beloved Coca-Cola, three white men out front hurl racial epitaphs."

Ghost | 7 comments Oh my goodness! You got it! I recognized the story line as soon as I read it and the cover when I saw it. I've been trying to remember this title for years! Thanks Ayshe!
