Cherie | 6 comments I was wondering if anybody would be able to help me with the title of a book that I've been looking for for years. It was about a group of young kids, around the age of 4 or 5, I'm pretty sure the mother of one had just moved to the area with her young daughter, and had taken her to the playground where she had met these other kids. The kids were able to communicate with each other telepathically. It was a thriller/horror book, the cover was red, with a black silhouette of children holding hands on the cover. I read it in the late 80s, early 90s and it always stayed in my mind but I could never remember the title or the author. I did a bit of googling and I'm pretty sure it's not The Chrysalids. Is anyone able to help please?? It's doing my head in haha :)

Cherie, I moved your request to the Unsolved folder because you're looking for a specific book.

It was a fantastic book, I read it when I was ten or eleven (I was very advanced with my reading at that age - this was, by no means, a children's book, but an adult's novel. I came across it again in a second hand shop about ten years ago, but when I moved house it was lost, and I've never been able to find it, or remember the title or author again!! :(

I'm fairly certain the events in the book took place in New York, and the playground in question may have been Central Park, but I don't want to say 100% certain, in case it leads people away from the actual book haha :)
