Chapter 10: (view spoiler)[What I'm wondering right now is how Laia was able to disappear. I'm thinking she has some sort of power which allows her to do what she thinks rather than just be able to disappear but we shall see. I'm not sure how Elias is going to survive but I have a feeling he is somehow, maybe through Laia's power. I was also thinking maybe through Helene but I don't think she would help him like that from what we learnt in the last part of the first book. (hide spoiler)]

Chapters 1-8

(view spoiler)[A great start to the second book! I like how it started right where book one left off. I also like Helene's POV chapters being added to this book, although I'm curious what her dad had to trade for her to be released from her interrogation. Elias has been poised and in and out of dreams/consciousness, so I think it's just the start of the different story arcs. I still love the writing style! A lot of detail, but not to where the story doesn't move forward. I'm looking forward to seeing how Elias will heal from the poison and what Helene will do when having to hunt down Elias.> (hide spoiler)]

(I think I'm in the minority with that statement) and I'm enjoying this book, but I'm not loving it yet...However, I think I'm just getting to the point where things will start speeding up. (view spoiler)[The ending picked up! WOW! The middle part seemed a bit slow to me, but oh man, that ending.... I feel like everything that was memorable in this book, (besides Izzi) happened in about the last 20% of the book! So much happened in those last 70 pages! Overall, I enjoyed the book quite a bit, but didn't like it quite as much as the first one. I plan on starting the 3rd book next week sometime! Great book, but still so many unanswered questions! My favorite parts about the book:

1. Helen's point of view (especially towards the end)
2. Learning more about Laia's magic
3. Darin waking up and the last sentence of the book
4. The prison escape(view spoiler)[ (hide spoiler)] (hide spoiler)]

I still don't think it makes up for the middle being so slow but it's much better than what I was expecting for the ending. I still wasn't a fan of Helene's p.o.v but it was necessary to put it in otherwise you would miss out on elements. I loved the storyline of Elias, that was such an interesting change of events and the prison break was epic. (hide spoiler)]

So far I find the second book to be a lot less interesting than the first one. I feel like nothing really happened so far. Elias and Laia are running away to save Laia's brother, but nothing really happened until they ran across Izzy and that red haired guy... Not really thrilled to continue this so far, but I'll do some cleaning today, so I will have the chance to continue the audio book.

(view spoiler)[Oh boy, I'm glad when I'm done with this book. I'm really not huge fan of it. Some things seem so pointless... Why was Izzy even a character in this book? Why did Laid save her if she's just going to die? To make the reader angry or sad? If that was the point, I have to disappoint Tahir, because I really couldn't care less if Izzy is dead or alive. Laia's special power came into play once more and I'm kind of curious where she got it from and what else she's able to do apart from going transparent. (hide spoiler)]
