I'm interested in classic titles from each of their respective countries. Journey to the West for China, etc. Any recommendations?

Sam, Diane has a list of the 1001 books, which are mostly classics. They are listed according to their countries. That list is a wonderful resource. I've been trying to read more of the classics too.https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

I want to read classic book for a country written by an autor from that country.
So I'm still looking for suggestions. :)

I've been trying to read more of ..."So then question 1 is, does it count for your purposes if an author currently resides in X country but was born elsewhere, or if an author was born in X country but who now resides in the US, for example?
Let's say that if they reached adulthood in their country of birth, they could count as that country's writers.
Are you thinking about lists like Popular German Classics Books for different countries? If so I think it would be easier to answer your question if you told us which countries you are looking for right now. Or, are you just looking for random suggestions for classic books from different countries like this:
