ABANDONED. SciFi female lead, crashes on mars after helping to save alien ship

All I remember from the book is a female lead testing a ship in space. Out near mars she see's one alien ship being attacked by another. I believe I remember that earth had not yet had alien contact, or if they did, it was fairly new. She helps the one being attacked from being destroyed by putting her own ship under the alien ship to slow it's descent through the mars atmosphere. They both crash. The lead character is slowly fixed by the alien craft over so many years.

I would have read this book in the last 3 years or so, but I am not 100% on that or when it was published. I do know it's not a really old book though.

It was a Kindle ebook I got on Amazon, I do not remember if it was something random I found, a recommendation or a book bought by people who bought another book I read previously. I do not remember the book cover, but the title may have had the main characters name as part of the series name.

I have roughly 3500 kindle books and I looked through them all and couldn't find it, so I may have read it through kindle unlimited.
