Say hello, pretty please?

My Name is Arlene.
I joined The Group to get Book Recommendations. I'm a Reader, so I like finding New Books to read.
I also write, but, just for Fun, and I'm still learning. I write Chick..."
Hiya, Arlene! (❛‿❛✿̶̥̥)
So nice to have you here, and you can comment as much or as little as you want, but we are a super nice and friendly group so join in whenever you feel like it!

I read a lot of romance and enjoy finding new authors. I published my first book almost two years ago and have published two more since. It's been a wild ride, to say the least. My books fall in the clean, romantic suspense genre.
I'm looking forward to getting to know you!

Yay for HEA.
Welcome also to Margaret.
Better late than never.
Both; pull up a pew and grab a cookie (or three). :-)

I'm on a diet so I'll just grab a few torturous figs :P

Welcome, Margaret and Sheryl, so super awesome to have you here with us!! (❛‿❛✿̶̥̥)

I've been poorly sick with a cold (again!).
Just dropping in to say hi, and to ask if you miiiiissed meeee! ;-)

And ladies (and our few gentlemen) where have we all been? I miss you all! Happy Friday.

Aww, hope you feeling better now!!

Aww, sorry to hear you've been so sick, but glad you are on the mend now!!
And totally want to reiterate the listen to your body and don't ignore symptoms thing! I had symptoms for a year that I ignored because I'm not really a fan of going to the doctors, and when I did eventually go turned out I had cancer, so please everyone reading this don't ignore stuff!! I am totally trying to still learn that lesson, cos yeah I still don't really go to the doctors for stuff!

"
DVT in my iliac vein, almost a foot long. Scary, but probably not as scary as Miss Jane's ordeal! Yes, listen to that body.
Now I have to figure out a better writing schedule because I can't sit for long periods of time. Do you guys take lots of breaks? I usually do big chunks, but that's not gonna fly now.

You can always add your book to this thread as well! https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Feel free to browse my book selection ;-)
I am still working on books 6 & 7, I'm afraid so nothing new yet.
Welcome Ana. Congratulations on becoming an author. Such an exciting time. Your journey has begun. xx
I'm coughing well today, so hopefully the end of this cold is nigh!

Hiya, Ana! (❛‿❛✿̶̥̥)
So exciting that you just published your first book!

At the moment I am not getting much writing done, just can't settle to it, but usually I sit and write pretty much whenever I'm not doing something else and usually take lots of mini breaks to look at internet stuff, then straight back to writing!

@Cass: As for writing and taking breaks, yeah, I do that all the time! But I have 3 small girls so being to sit down for an extended period of time to write is difficult. That said, I have a word ap on my phone and occasionally, I write on that. That one I tend to do more notes or thoughts as it's difficult to write an actual scene on.
Another thing you could try since you can't sit for very long is voice activated software. You speak into a headset and it transcribes it into your computer. That way you can walk around while "writing". Good luck and I hope you heal quick.
@ Princess Jane: I'm glad you finally did go see the doctor and I hope things are better with you in term of your health. Us medical professionals aren't all bad ; )

I love reading romance stories. I recently had my debut novel published. Not telling you the name do't want to violate any rules.
I like seeing the changes in the characters development. Favorite author is Susan Meier. I've only read one historical romance, but it got me hooked to want to read more.
Eager to get to know you all.
Carol S

Haha, yeah I kind of have this thing where I think things will just fix themselves so I rarely go to the doctors! Usually only if whatever symptom is annoying me or someone keeps pestering me to go then I might to make them stop!
And thanks, will be going for my one year check-up in a couple of months, hopefully I'll get a good report!

Welcome new peeps!
Voice activated software sounds amazing right now. Wonder if it will understand/correct naughty words ... ;)
I'm stealing whatever goodies are left out. Haven't had a decent dessert in over a week. It's a travesty, I tell ya!

I'm Sara. I'm currently trying to finish my third book in a series set in France, but somehow never quite find the time. I'm hoping spending time chatting with you guys will spur me on. I only have one chapter to go (I edit heavily as I write) but I seem to have been saying that for the last couple of months. My current excuse is minor surgery on my middle finger, but that hasn't stopped me getting the veg garden ready for this year....

Hiya, Sara! (✿◠‿◠)
Awesome, I just visited Paris a couple of weeks ago, I loved France!! And I'm totally struggling with writing at the moment too, I've only done about three scenes on my current work in progress, and I keep making up excuses, but yeah they're totally just excuses, I should be writing! Hope your finger heals quickly!

xx

Sorry to hear you (as well as others) are having trouble writing at the moment. I'm sure it will come to you.
Happy Friday everyone!

I think we all struggle from time to time with writing. I've found my groove after having a small break. One thing that helps me is THIS THREAD. It's just tracking your daily writing. It helps motivate me when I see others getting words down, plus we offer encouragement to each other. Feel free to join us there and get that spark going again:)

Very true! It helps me too. My little competitive head gets going when I see others doing so well. xx
What didn't help was my cat puking as I was mid scene earlier!! :-/ Bleurgh!

lol. That would be me calling for my husband, "You gotta clean something up." hahaha Me and puke don't get along. *cue gag reflex*

Pleasure to meet you! I'm not sure which I feel more guilty of now...the fact that I, too, am dragging my feet at writing, or the fact that my garden is full of autumn weeds still!!!
A double kick to my butt, LOL. (It's good for me. I need it.)
I envy you on the France bit! I have always wanted to go. I want to run away to France or Italy for a year when my kiddos grow up and leave for college.
I guess I'd better sell some books to make that happen. Then I will take your book and read it from a little table in an outdoor cafe. Sounds like a perfect plan to me!

I was home alone! :-(
Strangely, cat puke I can just about cope with, but no other. Ask his daughter when she recreated a scene from The Shining, but it wasn't blood! :-O
Anyways, we're all pretty quiet still. I'm still in writing mode at the moment. Just thought I'd pop by and pretend to be sociable ;-)
Annie; I like your cafe table writing plan.

Feel free to read in muted silence, Arlene. The rest of us are loud enough for the group ;-)
Good luck with your writing
