Well, I don't have legit pole experience but I've been a go-go dancer more times than is cool to admit...

*wry grin*
*puts on booty shorts*
*plays Disney music*

Ready to entertain ^_~

message 902: by J. (new)

J. Saman | 320 comments The pole and the booty shorts (along with the wine) don't really go all that well with Disney music, but I think I may l like your style mistress. In fact, I think you should write a scene like that one day!

message 903: by Jane (new)

Jane Blythe Glad you're feeling better now, TL

And I see there's only wine to drink around here, so I'm going to bring my own diet coke

message 904: by J. (new)

J. Saman | 320 comments Ah, a fellow DC drinker. Finally!

Love my diet coke, drinking it right now in fact!

message 907: by Groovy (new)

Groovy Lee No, Mistress Amanda, that was T.L. this time. She and Annie are discussing pole dancing over it.

Jane, do you see me holding out my glass? Share!

Jane Blythe Groovy wrote: "Jane, do you see me holding out my glass? Share!"

Okay, I'll share a little, but consider yourself lucky because I don't share my diet coke with just anyone! (>‿◠)

Me too Princess Jane, me too. It's really all I drink - other than alcohol of course ; ). I'm not a coffee or tea girl.
I wonder if it tastes different in Australia than it does in the US. It does in Mexico and Europe.

message 910: by Bree (new)

Bree Verity (breeverity) I'm from Australia. I'd prefer wine ;-)
PS: Hello everyone! I seem to somehow have stopped getting notifications from this awesome group, and so I've been absent for a little while... you all noticed right??

message 911: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Siegrist (amandasiegrist) Bree wrote: "I'm from Australia. I'd prefer wine ;-)

Of course we noticed, Bree! Welcome back:) My notifications do that sometimes too and it drives me nuts.

And J, it never occurred to me drinks would taste different in different countries. I'm a diet pepsi fan myself. I always get frustrated when we go out to eat and I ask for a pepsi and they say, "Is coke okay?"
I always have a look on my face that says, "Does it look like coke is okay?" My husband always tells me not to do that. hahaha

Welcome back, Miss Bree!

Hmm. GR has been acting kinda strange lately. It stopped notifying me of comments from other groups and when it does, it's hours late. Like, it'll say "5 mins ago" when it's actually 12 hours ago hahahaha!

Oh well.

Shrugs and hugs,
Ann

P.S. - Ehhh, all I drink is water, coffee, tea, energy drinks, and more water LOL

message 913: by Groovy (new)

Groovy Lee I am so honored. Thank-you, Jane. Mmmmmmm.

J., what's the difference in taste like?

I drink diet pepsi, and diet mountain dew. (The regular ones have a weird taste not because of a diet or anything) Anyway, I'm addicted to bottled teas. I have to relegate them to the weekends only or I would go overboard! I drink wine maybe once a year to celebrate. I honestly believe I'm allergic to plain water.

Oh, let's not forget coffee. McDonald's brand is THE best!

Welcome back, Bree!

message 914: by J. (new)

J. Saman | 320 comments I think you're either a pepsi or a coke person. I am most definitely a coke person.
Miss Groovy, In Europe and Mexico the soda is sweeter. With Coke I think they use real sugar or something closer to it than we do in the states. With Diet Coke, I remember it tasting different. I don't think they use the same artificial sweetener that we use so it had a different flavor.

message 915: by Groovy (new)

Groovy Lee Thanks for that, J. Believe it or not, that really help me understand why the difference--the sweeteners they use. I never would have thought of that. I thought it was all manufactured here then exported out. Duh--Groovy!

No alcohol for me, just diet coke and water, and the occasional tea or hot chocolate when the weather is cold and I need something to help warm me up!

Our diet coke tastes pretty much the same as the diet coke I've drunk when living in California, or travelling in the US, but ours seems to go flatter quicker, especially in cans compared to bottles, haha, I totally take note of all these things because I am way addicted to my diet coke!!

I know, right?! They're not the same at all! If a restaurant doesn't have diet coke then I just drink water, because nothing else is good enough!

T.L. Clark (tlcauthor) | 527 comments Ooh...just had a nosey...over 200 members in the awesomest group ever! :-)

Do we know where we're all from?
I know we're pretty international.

message 922: by J. (new)

J. Saman | 320 comments Princess, glad to hear DC tastes the same in Australia. I'll be sure to tell my mom since my parents are traveling there soon. She'd be devastated otherwise. I drink a ton of water too. I'm not really the booze bag I make myself out to be. *winks conspiratorially*
That's a great question TL. I know that some are from the UK and some from Australia. Clearly, as you can tell by my not so polished language, I'm from the states. Actually I live in Connecticut now (super boring suburbs) but I spent the last 12 years in Boston and before that 3 years in New York City.
Oh and awesome job Mistress, Queen and Princess on getting so many new members. You're all awesome!

Well your mom will be happy she can enjoy her diet coke drinking here! And I hope they have a fabulous holiday here!

And we are definitely an awesome group because all of our members are so amazingly awesome!!

message 925: by Groovy (new)

Groovy Lee I'm from the states, too--Tennessee! I speak the slang but I don't have the accent.

Please get better, TL.

message 926: by T.L. (new)

T.L. Clark (tlcauthor) | 527 comments I'm trying, Groovy. So bored of dizziness! ;-(
I can't even write in my downtime as screenwork hurts. Just writing a brief review has me lying back down. And I've finished watching up to end of season 5 of GoT!!

So, we got States, Canada, UK, Australia...

Groovy Lee I love accents. I wish I could physically hear some of you talk. Australian, British, Jamaican, and French are my favorites to listen to. And I love when Canadians say "eh," after their sentences.

Here, in parts of North Dakota, they say "don't ya know" at the end.

message 934: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Siegrist (amandasiegrist) People have said I sound a bit Canadian...or from Boston before. Haha. I'm from Minnesota originally and yes, I have said "ya you betcha" just not as ridiculous as they did in the movie "Fargo"!

message 946: by Groovy (last edited Oct 26, 2016 02:49PM) (new)

Groovy Lee Annie, I would see 'eh' at the end, but it never occurred to me that's what that was. I didn't even know you were Canadian until yesterday. That is cute, though.

Imagine how we would all sound if we were in the same room together talking?

I'm from the deep south, but people say I sound proper not southern. I'm sure if you heard me talk, you would say I had an accent:)

I like British and Australian accents. For the States, I can say I hear the difference between the Southern accent and northern one when I talk to someone but I can't say where they come from.
In Canada... well, many many accents. I have to speak with a lot of people during the day, both in English and French, and believe me, there are so many... However, I love Newfoundland accent. And Northern Territories. My English accent is horrible, I am sure. English is my fifth language so... you don't want to hear me talking, that's sure
