Hi to all the new members that have joined since I vanished!Sorry for going AWOL - my laptop broke, and my manuscript wasn't backed up to Dropbox like I thought it was. Thankfully my hard drive survived (the rest didn't), but it's put me behind schedule on book 2 so I've been playing catch up only to discover that I've got more work to do on it than I thought! (But I refuse to rush it like I did book 1).
Bright side, my laptop going missing gave me chance to work on some short stories and nonfiction, which was a refreshing change of pace!

Thanks for the warm welcome! It sure cheered me up after seeing somebody gave my book one star. *big crocodile tears* I know it can't be that bad, but then I looked and her average rating is two stars. Since I don't have many ratings, it really kills my average though. On another note... Cass is not the only one with emoji problems. My daughter thinks I am hopeless with them, but I love using them with her just to bug her.

*hugs* If it makes you feel better, Ava, I can't even get my own family members to get online and give me a rating--and they've bought the book and told me they enjoyed it. I have zero ratings on Goodreads. Two random ratings on Amazon. I've read some truly terrible books and I doubt you earned one star. Somebody likes giving ones and twos...pretend they are from a foreign land and they think one star is like #1, as in the best. Do you drink? I'll toast you tonight with my nightly glass.

Welcome to all the new members!!!Since we're on the subject in the hello thread, I'll just say this: Can we talk? It's hard getting readers to leave ratings for your books. I'm still waiting for some reviews as far back as 2014 (I know, it's not coming, is it?) Anyway, whether good or bad, reviews and ratings are very helpful for an author. I've had maybe 4 giveaways this year, not counting the event, guess how many reviews I've received? 0
In my current books, I leave a message on the last page asking the reader to please leave a review. That's all you can do.

Cass, I wish I knew the magic word for you to get those reviews and ratings.
Maybe someone can open up a thread with some tips.

On a totally different note, I was in whole foods today and the guy who was helping me bag up my groceries, is most definitely going to star in one of my books! Black hair and the pales blue eyes i've ever seen. Absolutely gorgeous!!! *swoons* Seriously, I was that crazy lady with two of her kids ogling him like he was candy. I'm sure I wasn't the only one either. LMAO!
