I will say hello! This is great!Umm, all my books are based on romance (to a fault) so I would need to know your NEXT flavor to know which one to recommend, lol!
YA? Fantasy? NA? Paranormal? Contemporary? Hard core or sweet?

Big thanks to Ann for starting this group! I write romantic suspense, although I like to think of it as romantic crime, as sometimes its suspense, sometimes thriller, and sometimes mystery, or sometimes all three!
I have a complete series of five books, but I'll warn you that there is an unhappy ending (death to one half of my couple!) to the series!
Also working on a new series, first two books published so far, as of right now no plans to end the series with the death of a major character! That could change!
I also like hugs but prefer virtual hugs to real life hugs!

I was writing for a long time before I started publishing so I had lots ready to go! Have also written (first draft only) of the next four books in my Count to Ten series!

Hello! I'm Amanda and I love romance:) Give me a happy ending and I'm a happy camper. I won't hold that unhappy ending against you Jane. *winks* I write contemporary and romantic suspense. Although, I find romantic suspense easier. I just love putting a puzzle together and that's how I see writing a suspense. One big puzzle.

Haha! Thanks, Amanda! I knew some people would think I'm a bad girl for being so mean with my ending but I weighed the pros and cons and decided I had to write my story the way that felt right!

Sometimes a story takes you in places you never thought it would and changing it any other way just would break your heart. I always let a story lead me.
I killed a character off (in the very beginning) and by the end, I was so sad I did it. But he had to die. I even had a few people say, why did you do that? Because the story would've never been born if I didn't.

speaking of happy endings, has anyone else heard that a book has to have a happy ending to fit in the Romance genre?? I mean, seriously? In one breath, you hear "there are no rules to writing your story" and the following breath... "but...."

I think most in that genre will say yes. But if you put a disclaimer in the blurb explaining it's part of a series and will eventually have one, they are more forgiving.
As a romance reader, I would be appreciate of a warning. It would break my heart to get to the ending and find out it's not HEA.

This made me laugh so hard. I have no idea why. Good reason to write another book and give the other half still living another chance at love with someone knew. Rebuild my broken heart with a new love.

Nicole, yep! I've taught preschool up to sixth grade, mostly preschool, I do substitute teaching these days to have more time for writing, which is awesome, fun with the kids without paperwork!Before I tell you, how old do you think I am?!

Nicole, close, I'm 32! Now don't think I'm odd, but I've actually been telling people all year that I'm very excited because I think I'm starting to look my age rather than looking way younger! Yay me!!
Haha well I stopped aging at 29. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. My brother (5 yrs younger than me) actually turned 29 last year so I joked that he was finally older than me.

I totally love getting older so I'm glad I'm starting to look more my age! Of course with no make-up on and hair in pigtails I still look too young!

Hi everyone. I'm Alexis. I'm from the Netherlands and I write multicultural (erotic) romance novels. I'm attempting to finish my first novel now. I don't know why I decided to write it in English (bangs head) but it's been fun so far. Kind of. I have an issue though. My writing process is insane. I could be working on the first chapters of my story and then suddenly I'm writing the ending, or the epilogue or a scene that doesn't fit in with the rest of my plot at all. It's driving me insane!
But it's been really fun so far. Kind of. :p

In my opinion, don't worry about skipping around when writing. I've done it before and it always comes together for me. And if you're writing a scene that doesn't make sense, maybe you have another book trying to come forward?

I admire people who can write like that because I can't! With my OCD I do a ton of planning before I start and then work through the book in order, if I get an idea for something that will happen later in the book I add a note so I don't forget, I find my planning helps me not to need to do as much editing and rewriting. Keep having fun!

I'm Dianne, I met Ann when she scampered into my life looking for a review...since then I have been practicing MY scampering and have only face-planted 3 times.I'm half of the most awesome Book Blog, Tome Tender, so that makes me a writer of reviews, I guess, although the fun part is "meeting" the authors, promoting them and reading their work. So bring it on! I do NOT charge for my typos or run-on sentences in my reviews, which also means I do NOT dwell on them when reading!
And, to who(m)ever started the whole age thing? I am twice the age of at least one of you, which pretty much explains why I can no longer scamper. ;)

And OMGoodness, I'm so with you!! I wrote the ending of my next book (the last 3 chapters) and then some random stuff in the middle, and finally the beginning. But then I tossed 10,000+ words of that beginning into the trash last week, so there's that LMAO!! Oh, and I also write endings and climax-y stuff first. I'm not alone!!! EDIT: And neither are you LOL!!

Welcome Rowena!@Annie. Really? Lol. I need to update it; I suck at writing stuff about myself. I speak Dutch, English, Spanish and Papiaments (It's kind of like Portuguese and is spoken in Aruba, Curacao, Bonaire (Caribbean Islands, former Dutch colonies)) fluently.
Took French in High School but it's been ten years since I last spoke it. I was in Paris on a weekend trip and could barely ask for directions, so yeah my French sucks. I only know bad words in German :)
How is the book coming along? Did you break the horrible terrible bad news of postponement to your readers yet?
Haha totally crying with you my two books over here. Well, romance books, anyway.I've been writing my 3rd one for a couple of months now, and getting close to being done, but running behind my self imposed schedule. I may have spread myself a little too thin between my day job, my nephew, my blog (reviewing other Indie books), and trying to write a full length novel that people might actually want to read.
@Ann, you should do a folder for copywriting, where we can get feedback and recommendations on our book blurbs.
