Best book/s read in 2016?

This will be a fun topic to peruse. For me, novels: 11/22/63 and The Narrow Road to the Deep North. Short stories: Fortune Smiles and Consider the Lobster and Other Essays.

hmm, I love the first quarter of 11/22/63 but then it went downhill somewhat. Possibly my favourite so far has been 'Ragtime' by EL Doctorov (?)

Magnus - I'm a very patient man and was able to stay interested in King's story all the way through (it was my first King book, which may have contributed to my attentiveness).

Thanks for bringing up Rag Time! Just put a hold on it at the local library. Will be picking it up tomorrow

you won't need patience with Ragtime - it's fast moving and very entertaining without any sagging bits, I thought.
With King I find I usually really enjoy 2/3s of his books and loose interest towards the end. The beginning of 11/22/63, however, blew me away...
