In another review this month from our group it was mentioned that the plots of the Harry Potter series start to get more complex as it goes along. I agree this is happening. In this book it showed with the strength of Lord Voldemort growing and the methods and time taken for him and Harry to meet up again. The book also had more teenage rivalries, school crushes, jealousy and trying to get away with things that are age appropriate for students getting older at Hogwarts. A more serious subject of the loss of a friend is also felt by everyone at school. Given that it a long series, it had an interesting ending where Harry and Dumbledore are not happy.

Are you reading these with your daughter, Kelly? I read them with my son when he was around the same age. My favorite was the fourth one . . .not sure which that was anymore.
Reading them with my daughter was the plan, but now I admit I am just reading them myself. This was the fourth book.
