Leena (leena23) Mason let his duffle bag drop to the ground, be took a look around the track, empty. Just the way he liked it, unless there was a pretty face of course. The weather was nice and cool, with sun shining so that the cool wind was more of a relief than an annoyance. Mason began stretching his long legs, he was wearing gym shorts that went a little below his knees, an underarmor short sleeved shirt that clung to every bit of goodness on Masons body, or so he'd been told before. He stretched his arms high and turned a few times, making sure he was limber before he took off at an easy jog down the track. He slowly built up to more than just a jog, he started running nice and hard, he enjoyed running, loved the way it made him feel, especially the soreness afterwards. Because Mason didn't just go till he started feeling pain, no he went past the pain until it was just blissful numbness.

Cat walked down to the track bright and early. She was even earlier than usual, since she'd been woken up by some girls stumbling into the sorority house from the bar, and couldn't fall back to sleep. She had had some thoughts nagging at her anyway, some old things from the past making her have a lot of trouble sleeping, and exercise was always the best way to get rid of it. So she'd thrown on some running shorts and a sports bra, her dry fit tank top over it, grabbed her sports bag, and walked down to the track and field. She was used to running, from all the gymnastics. The sport was all about being quick and agile, being light on your feet but fast overall. She was tying her hair into a braid when she finally reached the track, the long, red tangle looking neat and orderly for once. She hung her bag off of one of the posts of the fence, then did just a couple of lunges and walked to the starting line before realizing that someone was coming around the track. It was the guy she'd knocked into on her first day, and he was just about to be at the same point as her. Well this would be interesting. Cat grinned, her big brown eyes shining, and took off from the starting line at her fast pace. She'd never liked starting slow, it was boring. She just started to run, wanting to stay ahead of the guy that was currently eating her dust. A race, really, that only included her competitive spirit.

Leena (leena23) Mason rounded the bend, his third lap on the track, and was getting ready to go again when his eyes were diverted from the track to a person. There was a girl on the track, and well, he couldn't exactly help checking her out. She had on shorts that showed plenty of leg, and a sports bra so he had a good view of her back, and muscles as she bunched them up and took off at a much speedier pace than he was at after being distracted by the female form. C'mon Mason, pull it together. You're acting like you've never seen a girl before, Mason pumped his legs, his feet barely touching the ground as he sped up, feeling like it was somewhat of a competition between the two of them. As he ran he slowly caught up with the girl, he definitely didn't recognize the backside of her, maybe he would recognize the front? If he got that far? Mason threw everything he had into going faster than he was so that he could get beside her, it took him almost the entire length of the track to finally get beside her. He stole a quick, sideways glance at her before paying attention to the track in front of him again, nope he'd never met her. New student probably, "Hey," he said a bit breathless, he was definitely past the pain point. (To have Jensen Ackles running after you ;-; omgsh)

Cat kept running steadily at her quick pace, not wanting to slow down. Was she showing off?? Yes. But she thought that was fine. Especially since the guy she was running "with" was extremely hot. She was pushing herself, controlling her breathing; everything that a runner should do. She was just coming up to her first turn when she heard footfalls behind her. They were fast, and gaining on her quickly. The guy showed up next to her and acted like he wanted to start a conversation. Cat tried her hardest not to laugh. Time for a causal chat?? While running?? There was a first time for everything. Cats pink lips twisted into a cute little smirk, and she just glanced over at him. Yeah, he was insanely good looking, she could definitely snuggle up with him. "Hey," she said in a coy sort of tone, trying to draw him in "finally caught up?" She asked in a teasing way.

Leena (leena23) They turned the bend, making their first lap together, huh running partners and they weren't even on a first name basis yet. Mason held back a grin as he looked over at the girl next to him, she was a bit sassy. "Hey I couldn't show you that I could beat you, that would be disrespectful to a lady," He replied and couldn't hold back the wide smile this time, his Texas accent coming through just a bit. Mason decided not to mention that he could go faster if he really wanted to, nor did he mention that he'd been running since he was just a kid. "So first year?" he tried to pay attention to his breathing as they ran, talking wasn't helping though. In through his nose, out through his mouth, talk a little, repeat, yeah he could totally do this.. not. Girls were way better at multi-tasking than men, it was a proven fact, he was sure of it.

message 7: by [deleted user] (new)

Cat noticed the accent in his voice and actually smiled, a southern boy?? She'd never known a southern boy before. It would be interesting for sure. A lady?? Oh that was cute. Cat definitely wouldn't call herself a lady. That implied that she was old fashioned and sweet and kind and dainty, or something like that. She nodded at him "Yeah, I'm new." She told him, but then she looked ahead of her instead, and started to speed up "Oh really?? Because I think you're just a wimp. And I am not a lady." She said defiantly. She looked back at him for just a minute, taking it in. The chiseled chest, the blazing bright green eyes, the light stubble, and that smile, God that smile was handsome as hell. "But you can try to keep up, if you want." She said, winking at him as she pushed her feet harder against the track, a grin on her face as she stared straight ahead.

Leena (leena23) New, fresh meat. That's what the frat boys would all be thinking, too bad. What she needed was a real man, she just didn't know it... NO, no he was a professor, that couldn't happen, Mason tried to get his head on straight as they ran and he almost let out a chuckle, she really was sassy, and definitely a lady whether she saw it or not. He liked her already, and he still didn't know her name, mystery girl. Mason pressed forward, this would be fun, even if it was slightly inappropriate, his eyes were lingering on her beautiful assets after all, the grin stayed on Mason's face as his feet carried him to be just behind the girl, they rounded another bend. Sweat had started rolling down Mason's skin, his heart beat as definitely up, but at a healthy pace still.

Cat was pushing herself pretty hard, and honestly wanted to slow down. But she was competing now, and even if it was a friendly competition, she couldn't just give up. It wasn't in her nature. So she kept at her pace, going just a smidgen faster than the man behind her. He looked like a man more than a guy, which was seriously intriguing to a girl like Cat. Even as a sorority girl, she wasn't really interested in frat boys. She didn't care for one night stands or partying all night with guys that think of beer as the is all end all of life. But that wasn't what she needed to be worried about just then. She needed to worry about the burning in her lungs and the pain coursing through her legs with each powerful step that she took. She needed to worry about winning, because that was just what she did "It's Cat, by the way" she called out, since she was sure that he was right behind her. "Catarina, really. But Cat."

Leena (leena23) Mason was on his fourth lap? Fifth? Yeah this was getting exhausting, he kept up though, and was surprised when the girl in front of him offered him her name. Cat, yeah that seemed to suit her for sure. "Mason, just Mason," He said loudly from behind her, his breathing was getting heavier the longer they ran. Running was all well and good but he didnt' think passing out on the track was very manly or sexy looking so he slowed to a walk, walking was best after an intense run, good for the heart and all that. "You win," He told her as he put his hands on his hips and walked at a fast pace, getting his heart to slow down slowly. He was practically soaked with sweat after that run, damn, he'd definitely gotten a good workout with Cat, they should definitely do this more often, of course he wasn't going to say that just yet, it might come across as creepy.

Cat felt like she was about to fall over, she was already past the point where her body felt numb from running, and was at that terrible point where he pain started again. She heard Mason call his name from behind her and smiled some, it was a good name for him and his southern accent that was way too charming for anyone's good. Then his footsteps slowed, and Cat looked behind her to see him surrendering easily. "Oh thank god" she said to herself, walking to the the side of the track where he field began and just laying down in the soft grass. She didn't care if you were supposed to slow down gradually, she was exhausted. Trickles of sweat ran down her chest as she laid there, sprawled in the grass with a smile on her face. She looked at Mason as he approached quickly. "Nice to meet you Mason, do you always loose on purpose on the track? Just so you can check out the hot bodies of girls like me??" She asked him, knowing fully well that she won fair and square.

message 12: by Leena (new)

Leena (leena23) Mason went past Cat as she flopped down onto the ground, he held back a comment about that being unhealthy. She was young, let her be, he then circled back and paced by her again as she spoke to him. "Oh yeah, its my thing. I can't reveal how many dates this ruse has gotten me," He played along, winking at her once as he circled again and slowed his walking more, his heart beat was almost back to normal. "What about you? Do you always seek guys out on the track? Or am I just special?" Mason sat down on the ground beside her finally, he leaned back on his hands and took deep breaths in and out, damn that had been a good run. He knew he would definitely be sore later on, that gave him a strange satisfaction. Mason looked over at Cat, rivulets of sweat were making their way down her body, and she definitely made it look good. Mason bit the inside of his cheek to keep from saying something very out of place.

message 13: by [deleted user] (new)

Cat watched with casually interested eyes as Mason continued to walk around the track, so he was one of those guys. The guy that followed the rules and the fitness guidelines they told you to follow during gym class. She smiled some just at the sight of him, he was way too yummy to be a freshman, too. Maybe he was a senior, now that would make Jo super jealous. A small laugh escaped cat just before Mason came back around, telling her that he did, in fact, use the track to check our girls and get dates. She laughed at him, her head lolling to the side to look at him as he sat down. "Me?? Well I usually don't need to use any rouse to get dates. But the market is surprisingly bad around here; too many frat boys. Can you really blame me?" She asked him, a smirk on her lips. She looked at him and obviously checked him out, not trying to hide it at all.

message 14: by Leena (new)

Leena (leena23) The wind kicked up and it felt nice against Mason's skin, the moisture from his sweat made it feel even cooler, and helped with bringing him down from the run. His eyes didn't leave Cat, she was very relaxed in her own skin, you could tell, it made him like her all the more, and she had character about her that he'd never seen before. "Can't blame ya there honey, I've seen those boys around campus, I wouldn't wish them on anyone. Now if you ever want to go out with a real man," He left the suggestion open for her own perusal. I should mention that I'm a professor... eh maybe not. Maybe I can wait just a little bit longer... Mason kept his thoughts to himself, he knew he was young to be a professor. So why not take advantage of that a little bit? They were just talking after all, it wasn't like they'd dated or slept together.

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

Cat's hair was still held securely in her long braid, it was trailing down the length of her head and her neck, the red glinting in the early morning light. Masons gaze on her was so appreciative, she loved the way those green eyes were staring at her, she really wanted to move a little closer, just to see the contours of his face some more than she could at that point. He was talking to her about being a real man, and wondering if she wanted to date a real man. She grinned at him widely, the smile stretching from ear to ear. She bit down on her lip to stop it from getting any wider "Oh?" She asked, her arms folded over her abdomen "I guess I just have one question, Mason. What makes you such a real man???" She asked him, wanting to tease the hell out of him. She would go on a date with him, she definitely would, but she should get to play with him first.

message 16: by Leena (new)

Leena (leena23) Mason chuckled, damn it was nice to have someone to converse with that didn't take life so seriously. His family back home was a lot like that, but around here it seemed everyone was uptight and far too serious. He leaned down on one elbow and leaned his head against his hand as he gazed at young Cat, she was a sight to behold. "Well I think a real man knows how to treat a lady, and I showed that by letting you win today. I can show you further how I'm a real man if you let me treat you to dinner later on tonight?" Mason couldn't help but want her to say yes, he couldn't just leave at this. Her here in the field, him lying next to her practically, and then never seeing each other again? Yeah that could not happen, they had to see if there was chemistry, and the professor problem, well that could come out later, he had time. She probably wasn't in his class her first year, right?

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

Cat giggled at him. Shit, she was already in deep. "You're charming, aren't you?" She asked, smiling softly at him. He wanted to take her to dinner, and treat her like a lady, and show her how much of a man he was. And really, who was she to put those plans on hold?? Cat stood up without a word and walked away from him. It was only a few feet to her duffel bag, and she got there pretty fast. She pulled a marker out of her bag, the same sharpie she'd used to scrawl her name all over the bag. Cat walked back to Mason with a very confident look on her face. She plopped down beside him and took his hand, she uncapped the sharpie and wrote her phone number on his left Palm, then looked him straight in the eye "I don't like fancy restaurants. And I don't like big showy things. Pick me up whenever you want, but I'm probably just going to be wearing denim and a tank top." She told him, then smiled brightly at him and leaned forward, kissing his cheek lightly. "Okay?" She asked him.

Leena (leena23) (Mason is already falling in love XD)

"I am a Southern boy after all, that's kind of our thing," He answered with his best accent, he winked at Cat just before she sauntered off, where was she going? Then he saw that she was rummaging through a sports bag, oh okay, maybe she needed a water bottle or something. When she returned though all she had was a sharpie in hand, she sat practically in his lap and took his hand into hers. He looked on, mystified, as she wrote her number on his hand with loopy handwriting, she sure was cute. "I don't do fancy unless its an anniversary or a funeral, so I think you're good there. I'll pick you up at 6, we can head over to Talula's Garden. They do serve wine, but that's about as fancy as you get, we'll head over to the Pub for some good food and drinks," Mason fully planned on going in his wranglers and flannel shirt, boots and hat might be added, he just wasn't sure about that yet. It all depended..."Can you dance? They have dancing there too, just some country on Monday nights." His specialty.

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

Cat sat nice and close to him, and still had his hand laying in her palm when he gave her his plans for their date. Italian had always been one of Cat's favorites, so she didn't mind that one bit. She would bring her fake ID for the wine, and for the pub later on. Just the thought of a pub that played country music made her grin, the atmosphere sounded fun. She wasn't a HUGE fan of country music, but she could dance to anything, which is why she pushed a hand to her chest in mock pain when he asked her if she could dance. "Can I dance??" She asked in fake disbelief "I think the better question would be if YOU can dance." She told him, poking her finger into his extremely muscular chest. She could dance, hell yes she could dance, and very well at that. Cat looked at his face for a moment, just looking him over. She wouldn't see him until 6 o'clock that night, and honestly that kind of sucked. She wanted them to tease each other more and maybe end up kissing, but she had to wait, a lot of hours. Cat bit down on her lip as she thought about it, but as soon as she realized what she was doing, she jumped up, sharpie in hand, and started walk away, waving behind her as she did "See you later, cowboy" she sang, swinging her small hips just for the fun of it.

Leena (leena23) Mason held back a laugh, he just looked at her with his most serious face, "We take two steppin' very seriously in Texas princess." Then he winked as she stood up, her face looked a bit saddened, she was then leaving him there on the grass, his eyes didn't leave her form until she was out of sight and he had no other choice. Mason scrubbed a hand over his face, "Boy what have you gotten yourself into?" He muttered just before standing and going to grab his own bag. He pulled out a towel to wipe the sweat off and headed off to his truck, it would be an interesting night for sure. The wine and appetizers would be a good starter, then they could head over to the pub in a more relaxed setting, at least Mason would feel more relaxed over there than he would over at that Garden place that he always went to when his parents visited.
