I am a bit conflicted after reading this section because I tend to remember that this was some part why I rated this book as low as 3 stars but after reading it again I loved some of it.

Rand is leading the Aiel out of the waste into Carihien behind Couladin, when Rand comes to Jangai pass he sees that Couladin is leaving destruction on his way, as he is slaughtering and burning everything in the sight.

Rand also gets attacked in the night by a draghkar and Aviendha saves him, there is strange chemistry going on between Aviendha and Rand.

Egwene meets Elayne in the dream world, but she also sees her talking to Birgitte, when she confronts Elayne regarding it she simply refuses to talk to Egwene regarding Birgitte.

Elayne gets some scolding from wise ones regarding exploring the world of dreams without proper knowledge.

Egwene continues her adventures in the world of dreams, and she stumbles into a trap laid by Moghdien, but manages to escape before the spider aka Moghdien can grab her, looks like Moghdien wants Nynaeve very badly as the last time Nynaeve simply was too much for her to handle.

Siuan,Liana & Min finally reach Sallie Daera where we have a gathering of all Aes sedai who are against Elaida, Siaun although she has been stilled manages to get some title from Aes sedai, but her game turns on her when Gareth Bryne too reaches there following her.

I think I definitely would have agreed with you on my first read. I wanted more Rand, Mat, and especially Perrin (whose yet to show up)

I find myself enjoying this book a lot more than I remember too, possibly more than you did on your reread. Even the Suan parts (mostly), which I remember dreading the first time around.

I still favor the parts with Rand, Mat and the Aiel, but the stuff with dream world is really interesting to me. Moghdien and Brigette are both interfering, one for good the other for evil. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

I continue to enjoy Moraine. I'm not sure if it was this section or the last but Egwene confronts her about why she's doing as Rand demands of her, and she responds that she remember how to channel Saidar "you let go" or something to that effect. She realized that she can have far more control over Rand by doing as she wish and offering advice than by trying to control him, and is in turn helping him greatly. Rand is coming into his own as a leader of men, but he needs help and advice from people he can trust.

The stuff with Avienda is amusing. She obviously like Rand a lot more than she is saying. She went to the wise ones to punish herself for lying to him. And how about that sword she gave him?

Also, I think some of what your posted it actually for the next section. I stopped at chapter 27 and Bryne had just arrived. This section is supposed to stop at chapter 26.
