Did you read this books?
I agree, the Infernal Devices had a fantastic love triangle. But lots of books don't, like The Cage and The Mortal Instruments
They can be interesting (guy fights can be hilarious) or they can be super cliche... and it always hurts when your guy doesn't get the girl :(
I kind of hate love triangles, especially when they're dependent on a selfish, indecisive girl stringing along two perfectly good guys because she just *can't decide* like they are in a lot of YA with love triangles. In those cases, I really just want to take the girl aside and slap her until she makes up her mind and breaks up with the one she doesn't choose. He'll be better off in the end.
The love triangle in The Infernal Device by Cassandra Clare is amazing. However, sometimes love triangles can be so annoying because usually the two guy characters fight over the girl character and it's just annoying through the book or in another case the girl character picks one guy and the other guy is fine with it because it's his friend but he is still really hurt and it shatters my heart throughout the book.
I strongly dislike love triangles. I have yet to see a love triangle where I think that was the only way it could have happened without lessening the impact of the story. Most books would even improve if the love triangle was removed.
no no no no. Hate love triangles. Someone is always gonna get hurt. The loser of the live triangle ends up alone or is forced to be/love a different/new character introduced for them. The main couple of a story have enough problems as it is, why throw in another person? Then the fandoms fight over which team they are on and who the MC should be with. And if your on the losing team the book's ending will be disappointing to you. Love triangles are rarely done well. I rather not have any at all
