For me it's a three way tie!

That's a hard one! I've loved a lot that I've read so far this year. I can't pick less than 3 lol:

The Warded Man

That's pretty tough question as I have also read alot of good stuff so far. I could list a bunch hut three that really stuck out are:

Among the 36 books I read this year, I have given 5 stars to 6 of them :

1. Pyramids / Pratchett
2. Red seas under red skies / Lynch
3. The way of Kings / Sanderson
4. The name of the wind / Rothfuss
5. The wise man's fear / Rothfuss
6. The last wish / Sapkowski

I gave 5 stars to The Martian last year and 5 stars to The warded man in 2013.

I have rated quite a few books as 5* this year, but most of those are by Terry Pratchett. I have also reread the Artemis Fowl series, which is an all time favourite. The Fellowship of the Ring and Two Towers also got 5* (I have yet to pick up Return of the King). Remaining then are:

Irons in the Fire
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
A Study in Scarlet

50 read this year so far

Is there a limit on how long our lists can be? (I hope not.) I’ve read more books already this year than I have in the past two years combined, and a lot of them were great books. Here is my top six:
1. The Name of the Wind
2. Six of Crows
3. Thirteenth Night
4. Reflections
5. The Rithmatist
6. The Raven Boys

.

These books are re-reads from this year that were just as good the second time around: The Fellowship of the Ring/ The Two Towers, Good Omens: The Nice & Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch, Anansi Boys, and Small Gods.

Lastly, I would like to give honorable mentions to: Limbus, Inc. (series), Dune, Elsewhere, The Scorpio Races, The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet, The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making, A Study in Charlotte, The Hidden Oracle, and Off to Be the Wizard (series).

Some great choices in here! It looks like it's becoming a good year for most of us :)

I read off to be the wizard this year too and thought it was great. Also read Calamity, enjoyed that too.

Read the girl who circumnavigated... Last year and thought it was brill.

The Rithmatist was also fun. And the way of kings is just epic.

Currently reading Theft of Swords after a bit of a drop in fantasy books recently for me, and really enjoying it!

I need to add The Fifth Season to my list.

I have Off to Be the Wizard on audio - must get around to it. I tried The Three-Body Problem and just couldn't get into it. Must try again after seeing such praise ;-)

I really enjoyed Spin by Robert Charles Wilson. Also up there were The First Fifteen Lives Of Harry August by Claire North and Speaker For The Dead by Orson Scott Card

Brandon i read The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August couple a years back and found it a bit disappointing. It should have been epic but, for me, just short of the mark. The ending got a bit mad.

@Audry. I read it out loud with my aunt who is under going cancer treatments. It was a great way to pass time is hospitals and such. She's doing so much better now and "my life is a tragedy" is now our inside joke.

We listened to it on a road trip a couple years ago, and the car's CD player gave out on the last disc, so we were screaming for the ending.
