Tales by Trees (talesbytrees) | 2 comments Hello,

I would have two requests:

1. Could you rename the series "Puiden tarinoita" (https://www.goodreads.com/series/1398...) to "Tales by Trees", which is its primary, international name?

2. Would someone then be able to add the book Tales by Trees: The Seafarer (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...) to the above mentioned series?

Thank you for any help!

I’ve added series numbering; if this is not desired, it can be removed. Please check.

Undone. Goodreads policy is for a series to be given its original title, in the language it was originally published. Other series names are added to the series' description.

They also don't really seem to have an order, so numbering also removed.

Tales by Trees (talesbytrees) | 2 comments Thanks for the help, the quick replies and the attention to detail!

We weren't aware of the Goodreads policy. However, I would like to mention that the series will be known as "Tales by Trees" in every language other than Finnish. Even the books' Finnish website www.puidentarinoita.fi now redirects to www.talesbytrees.com. Although the Finnish title was the original series title, we as the published definitely consider "Tales by Trees" the primary series title.

It would also seem that there are some instances on Goodreads where an international series title overrides the original. The Witcher (https://www.goodreads.com/series/4091...) comes to mind -- we were looking at this very question some time ago.

However, we do of course leave the decision to the librarians here and respect that decision.

As for the numbering, the books indeed have no numbering as each story is a self-contained story. The reason some retailers like Amazon show numbers is that they seem to be required for books to be considered a series in their platforms.

Thanks again!

Can't tell from the changelog who made the English title the 'official' one. I changed it (back?) to the Polish title, which also makes sense because most of the default editions are in Polish.
