Arionna’s sister was taken two years ago by her own government, the Rodeam. Since then Arionna has been training under a manipulative yet helpful Temporer to become powerful enough to find and free her sister. While working on her ever growing tasks for her mentorship under Melchior, she ends up making a small but costly mistake. When Galil finds Arionna unconscious and injured, he vows to himself to keep her safe. Unfortunately, when Arionna awakes, keeping her safe proves to be more difficult than Galil first anticipated. Meanwhile, the lands of the Five Shields to the west is in transition, as King Draven and Queen Noreen pass the rule of the Five Shields onto their only child, Perditia, and her new husband, the champion of the Royal Kingship Tournament, Cranston.
