Danielle Rogland (danielle-rogland) | 6 comments Hi everyone! I'm an author as well as a HUGE reader and fan of YA fiction, who published my first novel under the title "The Last Burning of New London" in 2013. Now, I've given the book a new title, "Ignite," and to help promote the re-branding I'm giving away free online copies. I'm not asking for reviews or anything in return, I just want to get the word out.

The story takes place in post-apocalypse London, where Jacks, a teenage pickpocket, accidentally gets swept into the world of a prominent group of rebels trying to overthrow the Empire. Here's the link to read it free online: https://www.inkitt.com/stories/scifi/...

Thanks so much everyone!

I did it and it just opens up in the webpage...is there any way to save it to a reading list so that I can come back later? I made an account hoping it would save my copy...and I know there's only 52 copies left. Do I need to keep the browser open so that I don't lose the chance to finish the story?

Danielle Rogland (danielle-rogland) | 6 comments Hi! So, if you made an account, you should be able to click "get your free copy" at the link and it will be saved on your account so you can come back and continue reading when you want to. You can also add it to a reading list on your account, so you can log out and when you log back in it will be easy to find.

Ok...I tried doing that but I'll see again. I really want to read this story! I don't want to lose it.
I bookmarked it, thinking that would help, but every time I go to my reading lists, it's empty. But I'll try again. :)

Danielle Rogland (danielle-rogland) | 6 comments I'm sorry you're having trouble! I did just get a notification on Inkitt that someone named Stephanie had just added it to their reading list, so that's probably you - I think it's working?

☆Stephanie☆ (teacherofya) | 76 comments Mod
Yeah, I had to create my own reading list, and then it saved. But it's funny: originally it kept taking me back to the "get your free copy" link...I think I made your count go down. I'm sorry.
Is this like Wattpad? Like, if I'm writing a book, would these be a good place to go? Is that what this site is about?

Danielle Rogland (danielle-rogland) | 6 comments It's okay! I don't think it messed up the count.

Yeah, it's similar! You can post WIP or finished books on there and people can read them for free, books with a large amount of engagement or books that win a contest (they host one every few months) will win a publishing deal.

☆Stephanie☆ (teacherofya) | 76 comments Mod
Oh, that's amazing! So if you're book gets a lot of reviews and reads during this contest, you might get published? That's awesome! I hope you win, even though I haven't read the book.
I know how hard it is to put your stuff out there and wonder what people are going to write in their reviews...wondering about whether you'll be able to get your book into the hands of readers and have people enjoy it. Good luck!

Danielle Rogland (danielle-rogland) | 6 comments Thank you! Yes, if my book gets 100 readers and those readers are finishing the book and engaging with it during the contest period, it will win a publishing deal. It was actually published before, in 2013, under the original title, but my publisher shut down so here we are, trying again. Thanks for the well wishes!

Danielle Rogland (danielle-rogland) | 6 comments Hey, just wanted to update: All copies were claimed a while ago, but I've decided to do a second round, so there are now 50 more free copies available until October 2nd!
