Six of Crows question

Hey! I just started reading Six of Crows and I was so confused I had to put it down. The first chapter was great but the second one just kept me wondering what was going on and wo these people were. I have to add I haven't read the Grisha trilogy but I read somewhere that you can read SoC without reading the Grisha series. So here's my question, does this boook stops being confuisng at some point of the plot? If so, Do you recommend me to keep reading?
