Ceanmohrlass Ceanmohrlass | 69 comments I have seen an ad on Facebook from a site called Serious Reading dot com. Shows interviewing and promoting authors. They also show reviews. It does show a charge of 49 dollars but that it is not a paid review. Has anyone used this service?

Barry Greer (pipenozzle) | 4 comments Have not used it and have dealt with enough scams over the years to want to see samples of their work. Want to know if they just take the money and run. Look for BBB rating and full contact information, including names, for the company that runs the site. Is that $49 a teaser rate with other fees charged if you want additional services? Where do they advertised? What's their track record for return on investment? And so on. --- Barry Roberts Greer

Ceanmohrlass Ceanmohrlass | 69 comments They state they are an amazon affiliate as well. I sent a message to amazon but the only reply was they will send my message on to the correct department. Ive not received any reply.

Heidi Angell (heidiangell) | 241 comments Wait, so they are charging author AND they are an Amazon Affiliate. That is called double dipping. I am an amazon affiliate. I review books on my blog and if someone buys the book through the link on my review, then I get a % of that sale. That is how I make my money.

An Amazon affiliate is not an associated company with Amazon. Its only connection is through a link that you click; if you buy something, they get a few pennies from the sale.

A few pennies is right. I think I may have enough for a cup of coffee so far this year!

I still don't understand the reports completely, and I suspect a lot of the clicks never get credited, but that's probably a topic for another thread.

Denae Christine (denaechristine) | 167 comments I tried it (what? I was curious).

They emailed me to say my review was with editors a few days ago. I had not sold a single book (or had one borrowed) in that entire time. They did not ask for a free copy. I doubt the reviewer even read the book (the review sounded just like my blurb, except flowery).
They also took 23 days after promising 2-3 weeks.

Haha! I don't even have anything useful to say but...

I dig your style, Miss Denae ^_~
